What would be your Social Status?

Where would you be if you were not affected by MI ? In Hospitality; A Security Guard; A Tradesperson; A Technician; A Nurse, Teacher or Cop; A Lawyer or Doctor etc.

I was a pilot. If you are schizophrenic it’s a useless dream. I talked to the FAA about it and they said I would have to come off of all the medication and have the diagnosis refuted to get a chance at getting a medical again. Surprisingly to me there are some in this site that believe they are schizophrenic and don’t take medication. I don’t see how that’s possible.

I am not that lucky.

But you can fly as a sport pilot with just a drivers license but I don’t really like sport planes. I prefer heavy helicopters and jets.

Good luck.

Take a sport pilot lesson and see if you like it. I have taken one up three times. It could be a therapeutic hobby. I was considering buying a sport plane because it is hard to find one to rent but it’s a fairly new category so most of them are pretty expensive

A nice one would be anywhere from 60 to 120 thousand US dollars but you can find a decent one for about 30k.

Too hard to tell as schizophrenia has always been with me in some form and it influenced my life.

I guess I would have had a career and more normal relationships with people. A career would have been nice!

Well, growing up I was pretty smart and I liked working outdoors at physical jobs. I probably would have been a plumber.

I would be getting ready to retire as an R.N. in a few years right now. I would probably have worked my way up into management by now. I know I thought about it as a young woman.

Before i got struck down with MI i was training to be a computer engineer at the council at 19. I would have been quite a highly paid civil servant by now with a decent pension by now at 43. Thats before Schizophrenia and Alcohol fcked me.

That is hard to say. I think I would be some kind of wildlife ecologist, or maybe a professor of biology.

I’m not sure because I got hit by illness so young before I developed any goals. I was interested in sports. I wanted to be a statistician working for ESPN actually. After I gave up on my MLB baseball player dreams.

An entrepreneur / educational game designer.

If I had developed and overcome SZ early enough, I’d become a psychiatrist.
