I’m talking only about the injection. How how many mg did you take?

I’m on a low dose to maintain me, 200 mg i got my shot today, side effects are not bad on it, i sleep a bit other than that I find it to be a good med. I had to fight to get to 200, they said I needed 400, but it made me sleep to much. I would rather be a bit on edge than take to much meds and I have Ativan if I need to calm myself, but try not use it often

I started on the 400mg injection and am stepping from the 300 to 200 this month.
Abilify has been a really good medication for me,
But it did give me horrible anxiety and restlessness.
My doctor gave me klonopin to combat it and that has worked pretty well.

How long were you on 400mg for? I’m on 400 its been horrible so far but they said they can’t think about lowering till 16 weeks in

It’s working out fine for me. And I’m able to get pregnant on it so that’s a plus.
Caused me depression and high levels of anxiety, after the first shot I had this horrible uncomfortable feeling, like I needed to crawl out of my body. Now my motivation is gone, I’m depressed, i’m pretty fatigued all day and really worry about losing my emotions on top of that. I am on it for negative symptoms according to my psych, but it just made those much worse, I see no benefit.

My psy also said Abilify is best for negative symptoms. It improved my negative symptoms slightly but I had horrible psychological side effects like addictions, gambling, hypersexuality, weed addiction, binge eating and compulsive shopping.
There’s over 2600 Abilify lawsuits as of June 2019, it even caused divorce for some ppl:
I lost over 100 000$ because of Abilify. I can sue them but I am not smart enough.

Ppl who don’t get side effects from Abilify are very lucky because they can reduce their negative symptoms.

I felt really bad the first couple months I was on it,
Probably the first six months.
It got better with the klonopin, but not every doctor prescribes that.
I’m on Abilify for positive symptoms, so I probably have a different experience than some.
Negative symptoms are questionable for me, I wasn’t bothered by them and they didn’t need fixed, my pysch just assumed I have apathy and avolition by me being flat but I don’t. I notice in reviews a few people mention concentration and motivation worsened on abilify.
Idk I have severe negative symptoms now, I never get out of bed. Abilify improved my negative symptoms including motivation and apathy. It did nothing for my cognitive symptoms like concentration. I am not the only one who has addictions on Abilify, other users here too, one guy here filed a complaint against Abilify and sent me the link to do the same.
My psy wrote on my diagnosis SZ with negative symptoms, apathy and avolition (lack of motivation).
Haven’t been on the injection, but Abilify tablets. I took them for 3 years.
I got gambling addiction, marijuana addiction, lost my girlfriend at the time, lost all interest in sex, made me feel gay (nothing against gay people), extreme bordem and anhedonia, crack addiction, extreme coffee addiction (I drink coffee anyway, but Abilify made me drink 10x more. I also couldn’t read anything because I was brain dead. Suicidal tendencies. Shop lifting. Smoked heroin, and I would never do that normally. Drinking full bottles of whiskey and vodka because I was emotionally numb, but even after drinking a full bottle of alcohol I wouldn’t even get drunk, I would just feel the same…emotionally dead bored and numb. My parents hated me on it. It’s just aweful.

I am the same, my gf left me because of Abilify too. Its weird but I also felt gay while on it, its hard to explain. It never made me gay though. I also had drinking addiction while on Abilify.

I guess it maybe works when there is true lack of motivation etc or positive symptoms. I think I was wrongly prescribed it for many reasons, where I did have motivation and interest in life, now not so much.
You could try another antipsychotic but SZ itself can cause negative and cognitive symptoms.
I stopped meds (Abilify) for a year and still had negative and cognitive symptoms compared to other antipsychotics.
I’ve noticed as I’ve stepped down to 300mg that I am more productive and have more interest in my hobbies.
It’s possible you’re just on too much.
Why are they making you take that dose for 16 weeks?
Yeah, I definatley feel it’s too much. I was thought to be of risk of getting postpartum psychosis, I never did develop it but they equate that to starting medication.
Psychiatrist mentioned a reduction but said the pharmacist won’t consider until 16 weeks, i’ll probably phone them tommorow and ask as I feel so wired and the thought of another 2 shots is unbearable.
