Mine was a Chuck Berry record. I don’t remember the name but I know no one has heard of it.
I think mine was a cassette of the Cranberries. That was a long time ago so I may be off.
They had a couple good songs.
I think the very first stuff I bought was Alice in Chains and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Let me think…it was back in the 80’s when I bought my first cassette…I think it was either something by Michael or Janet Jackson, or possibly New Kids on the Block because I was big fan of theirs back in the day. Also could have been Madonna…I have no idea…lol but those where my favorites back then. Still kind of are today, well Michael & Janet Jackson, and Madonna, kind of gotten over New Kids on the Block.
Nirvana’s Nevermind.
Burzum and Darkthrone!
I never heard of them Yak. But to be fair I bet you’ve never heard of Foghat or Boston.
An album titled Joan Baez - her first.
I was working as cashier in 1986 and Joan Baez walked in and was standing about 6 feet from me.
It was a Jim Croce album and it was 1974. The reason I remember is that I rode my bike across town to the store to get the record and I went three times because each album I got was warped…I was in tears when the third album was warped too and my mom drove me to the store where I went and explained and it turned out the whole shipment of that particular Jim Croce album was warped except a couple…they tested each one and when they found one not warped we bought it…shew, long story, but a nice one I think?
Mine was also the Cranberries! The album To the Faithful Departed. I played that CD over and over. And I also learned how to play some of the songs on piano.
I’ve always been a huge fan of theirs. Especially since they’re from Limerick, the same city my dad is from.
Blessings,
Anthony
Yes, good story…
I had an inlaw that worked as a cop at the Phoenix Airport and he actually got to talk to the Cranberries getting off a plane…he had no idea how big they were…I couldn’t imagine getting to meet the Cranberries…and the lead female singer is so beautiful !! my in law said “she was very tiny”…
The Symphony 6 of Beethoven. I was fascinated by classic music at that time.
Foghat was playing on the radio a few weeks ago, Heard of Boston, but never got a chance to listen to an album by them.
Bryan Adams-waking up the neighbors. Vinyl LP. Bought with my own money.
this was my first vinyl record album and it was a double LP 33rpm, i got it after seeing them at a festival i went to last year and i thought they were amazing
i think vinyl is the best sound you can get and its the best way to listen to music like putting on a download is so boring and the sound isn’t as good.
my first cd i ever bought was ocean colour scene called moseley shoals here-
i still like them and the singer/guitarist is playing with Paul Weller now and he is a famous singer/songwriter over here and a regular in the magazines.
i was flicking through my music collection this morning looking for something light and i put the horrors new album Luminous on and it was perfect for the morning lol i discover something new all the time and i like having different music for different moods that i am in
My first LP I can remember was the True Blue album from Madonna
