Clozapine makes me calm without a doubt but it’s not treating me properly
My dose is 550mg per day
But the blood test shows my levels are way too low
It’s really frustrating
I don’t seem to be majorly ill on it but now I worry that things could snap at short notice
What am I supposed to do?
Online it shows we now have generic Saphris but if clozapine is not breaking sz then what chance do I have
Feel very deflated and unsure what the future holds

I did everything they said
Even though I really didn’t want to
And it’s totally ■■■■■■ now and I have lost hope

The options are not acceptable
Increases can’t happen
Already taking too many constipation meds

I wish I could have some answers. But I have never taken clozapine.
Are you sure you’d need more laxatives if you increase the dosage?
How much more meds do they want you on?

I already take too many
We increased the dose by 50mg and it made no difference
Not sure how high it would go but I am not going through that again
They will turn me into a zombie and work will suffer

Perhaps it’s good to do as the doctors say? I mean you need to reach sufficient serum levels.
Are you sure the increase would make you a zombie?

Weird cuz I’m on 300mg and the blood level is above the therapeutic range
Are you having breakthrough symptoms? It’s possible it continues to work even though your levels are low.

The issue is the amount of cigarettes I smoke

I have been on high doses much of my adult life and I don’t want to take any higher doses of clozapine as that’s asking for trouble
Not going to cut down smoking as that’s my last vice

My parents are worried what will happen to me when they’re gone
I feel really bad they worry about this
They deserve not to have stress like that
Always causing problems and giving other people headaches

It’s not exactly a high dose if your serum levels are low. You need more clozapine.
You could switch to vaping. That doesn’t affect clozapine levels.

I tried vaping before but I did not think it was the same

You’ve identified the problem, so take the next step and adapt to the change.
What else can you do?
Vaping is like meds. You have to find the right setup for you. Experiment, talk to the guy in the local vape shop.

If you don’t want to quit smoking maybe cleaning up your diet would help. I’m not sure I don’t know a lot about clozapine. Have you hear of evenamide? it’s in trials for trs. But I think it’s gonna help people who aren’t treatment resistant too. You should look it up on here. There are some mind blowing anecdotes about that drug.
