My parents weren’t into music much at all. I got my first impressions from my older brother and eldest sister. They had cool albums. THE CARS, BOSTON, ELO, THE BEATLES, and some others. It was the seventies. I got interested in music at age seven.

Ooh: “The Cars” is a good one Jinx, I loved that playing on long car journeys - Reminds me of holidays.
I also heard Pink Floyd on my dad’s LP player and fell in love with them too.

They had a copy of Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.
Also a copy of Bridge Over Troubled Water. Some soundtracks from popular musicals of the fifties and sixties.

My mom was a stay at home mom when I was under the age of eight. I think she had soft rock playing on the car radio when we were out and about. There was some sixties and fifties songs and softer songs from the eighties - it was the 1980s during the time I can remember.

We really didn’t have much music in our house. At my Grandfather’s house, at least, he would watch Ed Sullivan and play along on his bones.

On the other hand, my Dad won salesman contests that send him to NYC for a treat. He watched Broadway Musicals like Hello Dolly and My Fair Lady, and he would sing all those songs year after year when he got home.

My parents weren’t much into music. Sometimes we listened to Christmas music during the season, but that was about all. My older brother was the primary influencer on my tastes in music.
