Frankie goes to Hollywood
And everything from 1979 to 1984.
Ive had a few different types of music influences on me. When i was a kid, american rap influenced me a bit to be a tryhard badass. Then emo music and metal/screamo influenced me in my teens while i was going through emotional changes and existential crisees. Then as an adult classical music helped me see the beauty in things. I love classical while reading or anytime really. And chopin the famous ramantic era pianist influenced me to buy my own digital piano and practice and learn myself. Which i am forever gratefu l for. So yeah music has been a huge part of my life forever. I always have something playing at least in the background.
Did you ever see the movie Son in law with Pauly shore playing John Denver music it was so funny.
I apologize random thought I had about John Denver.
I don’t put much serious thought in it. 90s grunge rock I guess.
My biggest influence is Carter Beauford. He plays the drums for The Dave Mathew’s band. He is really really good. I play the drums as well. He plays fusion beats, and I play the same style that he does. I am still pretty much a beginner and not as nearly as advanced as he is. Good thread @jukebox!!!
I love Mariah Carey’s music.
I remember being 4 and listening to Jimmy Buffett in the car with my family. And at 7 my dad introduced me to Led Zeppelin!

I can’t think of any, to be honest. I enjoy music, but I don’t get all that attached to particular artists. My influences tend to be literary.

Some of the earliest influences were Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, Sepultura, Iron maiden, Judas priest, Black Sabbath, Slayer, etc. Led Zeppelin, Deep purple, Rush, Dio, and some grunge bands like Nirvana, Pearn jam, Alice in chains, Badlands, as well.
It’s hard to choose, but I appreciate lots of different artists and styles:
Somebody that stands out to me is George Harrison for his introduction of the sitar and other worldly sounds into mainstream music.
I also think Brian Wilson is pretty brilliant. Pet Sounds is an amazing album!
Tough question, lots to choose from!
