What meds worked for you, what ones did not?

Im sure this has been done a bunch of times. But i just wanted to list mine so.

Worked: haldol, olanzipine, pimozide, resperidone
Did not work: abilify, geodone, latuda, seroquil,
Was never on: clorazil

Pimozide and haldol i had movement problems. Olanz had too much weight gain. On resp now. Funny enough. The ones that made me fat always worked and the ones that made me thin made me crazy so. …

The others did not work and or made me worse. Minus seroquil which just was given as a sleep helper for a while.

Worked: Risperidone
Partially worked: Abilify, Latuda
Never worked: Olanzapine

One pdoc wanted me to try high dose olanzapine 30-40mg or Clozapine but I refused.

I had akathisia on Latuda.

Worked: Abilify, Concerta, Zoloft
Didn’t work: Zyprexa, Dexedrine Spansules*, Prozac

*It worked remarkably well at first then pushed me over into psychosis.

Worked: Haldol , risperidone , invega

Didnt work: abilify , olanzapine , vraylar

Im on invega been on it for 3-4 years now

Worked: Olanzapine, Brexpiprazole
Didn’t work: Risperidone, Aripiprazole

Helping: Zoloft, risperidone

Didn’t work: paxil, effexor, seroquel, fluoxetine…

Worked: Marplan (MAO-i) - worked wonderfully, i was almost turning into a normie when the meds pooped out (tachyphylaxis)

Didn’t work: All the other ap’s and ad’s.

Except for my new med, Vraylar, it works very well, but since i got a history of meds that stops to work, im worried it will happen to Vralyar too.

Since meds affect different people in different ways I’ll just say I’ve noticed zyprexa makes everyone too hungry and often causes you to lose the ability to sleep through the night when going off.

For antidepressants
Didn’t work: Paroxatine, Sertraline, Duloxetine, Desvenlafaxine
Worked: Mirtazapine, Venlafaxine

For antipsychotics
Didn’t work: Olanzapine, Quetiapine, Aripiprazole
Worked: Clozapine, Ziprasidone

Clopixol has worked for me for a quarter of a century and Geodon has worked for 19 years and Seroquel has worked for ten years. Most other antipsychotics caused troubles.
