What James McAvoy Ate to Get Jacked as The Beast

James McAvoy’s dramatic evolution into The Beast is one of Hollywood’s most shocking physique transformations. To prepare for his role in Split and Glass, McAvoy packed on over 7kg of muscle mass in nearly four months.

To adapt McAvoy’s diet plan, start by eating three to four eggs in the morning. Choose a fist-sized portion of protein for snacks snack. Lunch and dinner should include a fist-sized portion of protein, another fist-sized portion of fat, and two-fist sized portions of vegetables.

“This diet is approachable for everyone because you get to pick your protein, your carbohydrates, and your fat,” Lygdback says. “Pick and choose and have a go.”

I’ve been doing something similar to this. I encountered an issue with peanut butter. Too many calories. I’m going to try a powered peanut butter that’s less than half the calories.

It appears McAvoy trained his traps way more than he trained his abs. Maybe he wasn’t going for a six pack, which is mostly diet.

If I put on all that muscle and stop working out, what happens to the body after that? does it turn to fat?

If you keep eating the same amount of calories to upkeep that weight and don’t work out, yes you will gain fat instead of muscle.

That must be what happened to me then lol.

It’s a very slow process where you lose muscle when you stop lifting. It’s also a very slow process where you gain fat when you stop exercising. I’ve heard a bodybuilder say your physique is 70% diet.

to gain fat doesn’t seem slow to me.

I’ve been eating less than 1500 calories a day and exercising 15km 5 days a week for months and after the initial weight loss of 5 kg in 3 weeks, I am stuck at the same weight.

I lost a further 2kg in 8 weeks, but now i stick firm, well hovering at 76 and 77kg for 6 weeks

Any advice?

Do you track your macros? (fat, carbs, protein)

I’m not sure what this means.

Also a doc told me your metabolism slows down the less you eat.

stationary bike, cycling for 15km at a rapid pace.

How long does that take you?

My record is 24 minute 23 seconds.

Every article I’ve seen recommends HIIT(high intensity interval training).

If you combine HIiT with weights you will be a beast.

I personally think my chest looks better with push ups more so than bench press.

I am only 5ft 6 and have little guns lol. I’ve been trying to lose the belly. It is stuck.

I hate my gut. It’s too damn big. I seem to lose the most weight when I jump rope and don’t eat peanut butter.

I don’t think my downstairs neighbours would like me skipping. lol

There’s a HIIT version of jump rope. I just try to get to 1000 total jumps.

skipping is bloody hard work. 1000 reps is quite a lot.

I read online when your metabolism stops you can either eat less or exercise more. Or both.

I can’t eat any less, so i suppose if i can be bothered to exercise…
