There are basic needs and then there is desiring and craving things you think you need.
It won’t bring you happiness in the long run. it will bring you momentary happiness and then you crave again. Luke a hungry ghost.
Hard work is gratifying, and when the deed is done you can momentarily wallow in the satisfaction, but then the work is never done and you continue grafting forever.
But not wen its overwhelming. I compare myself to my sister a lot cos she’s always around n so loud n stuff n it only brings me down mainly cos I gt overwhelmed
Identify what makes you happy! Real things like friends, hobbies, and actions. Find them in yourself, do them and do not care what others think.
Be happy in your own skin.
There was a guy on question time who complained that even though he earned over 80k a year, didn’t think he was wealthy. He rubbished Labour for taxing him because he compared himself to the likes of the millionaires. The millionaires are the same, they compare themselves to billionaires and think they are poor. It is now a race to become a trillionaire and the billionaires will think they are poor again.
It is a tedious game without any of them realising what they have. This comparison when they have everything will never satisfy them. They are lost and unhappy even when they have everything they could ever dream of.
Once your basic needs are met, meditation, exercise and a healthy social life is pretty much all you need, but gaining that can be harder than one may think.
I’ve achieved a lot of my dreams. I think you have to have clear dreams. A real good picture in your mind of what you want to happen and where you want to be in life and then, go after it with ALL of your gusto. And don’t stop until you’ve achieved it. And, no matter how difficult it all seems.
