What i discover recently?

the ppl responsable for withdrawing blood and blood donation
they said to me
you cant donate blood we are sorry !!!
i m loving the feeling of having less blood in my bood
in the past when i was donating blood every now and then
but nowdays and with the meds i am taking i cant donate blood , i cant
really sorry for that
some ppl need blood so much
but i cant help them
really sorry
i wished if i can donate blood really

I would like to be able to donate but can’t because of my heart condition. It is what it is. That you are being asked not to donate because of your medications means that they are doing their job by keeping the blood supply safe. You are helping by NOT donating right now.

Same here I wanna donate blood but due to my blood thinners I’m permanently banned from donating

There is also that for me, but my heart disqualified me from this before the blood thinners ever did. Oh, and since you’re on thinners, beware of a supplement called curcumin. It turns out to be a blood thinner on its own and it acts as a power up to your current meds. It gave me a nosebleed from hell that was so bad I had to go to the ER.

Yeah, if I’m not mistaken I don’t think anyone one AP’s can donate blood.

Don’t feel bad though. At least you want to help.

Maybe volunteer at a local charity shop?

I have loads of nosebleeds alot my doctor said take some sorta cream in the hospital but k don’t use it it sucks supposedly the blood thinners are gonna make me have nosebleeds more than the normal person

Yeah, you get used to going on walks with half a roll of paper towels stuffed in various pockets because Kleenex doesn’t cut it for people like us.

Yeah I truly think it’s the least of my problems my heart is doing good my keratoconus is mostly under control and it’s a bit of a different situation with my mental health but I’m going off topic just saying I feel physically healthy

But donating blood can save lives

I should mention supposedly St. John’s wort Is terrible for people with heart problems it can also worsen mania and psychosis

St. John’s Wort is an IQ test. If you’re taking it you have failed.

People can accidentally take it. It should be more well known.

Im very confused it’s a herbal supplement that is supposed to help depression but supposedly it makes people go manic and psychotic also it thins the blood making it bad plus it counteracts certain meds like apixaban for example the one I’m on

I bought a bottle one time while I was in psychosis but never took it anyway be careful with herbal supplements

It means you should be looking up a supplement and talking to your doctor about it before taking it. Your average doctor will tell you to run screaming in the other direction when you bring up this one.

If you don’t mind me asking, which med makes you unable to donate?

I’ve been donating for a while but stopped a few years ago. Since then I’ve started new meds and am thinking of donating again for some extra cash. I didn’t realize meds could make you unable to donate blood.

Where I’m from, the Red Cross will accept blood donations from people on antipsychotics. Do they tell you which meds disqualify you @saynow ?
