is it healthy for us to donate blood?i think it s better to donate blood because we are using high amount of ap and these are transfusion directly to blood and blood needs to be replaced.
It’s not exactly healthy or unhealthy. You give some blood, make new blood. I remember there was once someone on here who either didn’t know blood regenerated or thought it took years. He kept saying the hospital was killing him because it was taking blood. Whoops.
I like doing it because it saves lives.
Well, I used to know people who gave blood every three or four months for drug money.
But hey, if you want to do a good deed and if the doctors will accept you to take blood from you then it sounds like a positive, rewarding thing to do.
I did that plasma donation for a little while, and I was making some nice pocket change doing it. But then I got a false positive for hepatitus when they checked my blood. I found out that it wasn’t real hepatitus, but instead the drug “Haldol” that I was taking gave me a false positive. I read in the medication manual that it can do that. It made no difference that it was a false positive, for them any kind of positive for hepatitus ruled me out of donating plasma. If I donated blood in any form now I would get in big trouble. I had also donated a few times at Red Cross blood drives, but again, my false positive forbid that.
Wha? But you don’t get paid for donating blood @.@
Sure you do. At least where I live.
What country are you?
The good ol United States.
I’ve never been paid for blood before or heard of anyone being paid for it. Unless you have like some rare disease or something. Not fair!
Unless you mean plasma donation? Apparently they pay for that and I didn’t know o.o
at my country they only give a cracker and fruit juice for reward. but i know that one unit blood 400 dollar.
Yeah, that must be it.
Blood donation was originated by kind hearted vampires who didn’t seek to kill us.
They tried eating just animals for awhile but it didn’t work out.
So they set up the clinics, they get their food and we don’t get killed, and we use the left overs for transfusions.
The last time I gave blood, 2003, it really screwed me up. I was new to psychosis, had just a couple months prior started taking a ton of meds (including AP) and, yeah, I was screwed up for days. It may have been coincidence, but I’m not taking any chances, not giving blood anymore. I would try selling my plasma for extra money, but you can’t do that if you’ve had a tattoo within the past year. I could try lying, but tattoos show their age and they probably would be able to tell that some of my ink has come in the past few months.
I’m entirely for blood donation, 8 to 9 pints at a time.
Uh, wait. Does it have to be mine?
(All jokes aside, I’m not allowed to donate because of my heart condition.)
i can’t get myself to donate blood or even get my blood tested like my pdoc wants. i told her i can’t get my blood taken!! i am too worried that they’ll inject me with nano bots while they are taking my blood.
I have donated 125 times prior to my diagnosis. Since I used AP’s I donated like 3 times only. My psychiatrist do not want me to donate. She said that “stuff” is in your blood. The blood bank used to harass me every second month to come and donate but they just stopped that for some reason after I told her I was donating. I think she might have phoned in and tell them that I am not suppose to donate.
I never got any money from it but I got some nice gifts and medals. You also get some cookies and cold drink each time you go.
I do not think we should donate if we are on AP’s
I had seven complete blood transfusions when I was born. Bad blood out, good blood in… It saved my life.
Giving blood saves lives. In regards to whether or not you’re qualified, the Red Cross, or the people wherever you’re giving blood, decide that.
