Or in the uk for that matter? When I was in uni they would turn a blind eye, certainly wouldn’t get the police. But I expect things are different now.
If it’s a legal state they can take away your FAFSA (federal aid) because its not legal on a national level. Then again when I went to school in Washington this past fall the cops didn’t give an F!!! But they warned us in orientation they could take our financial aid away if we got caught since its the USA government who gives it and not the school…
When I was in college from 18-20 they didn’t care at all in that city. The school security, or the cops in the city. That was New York. And it was a catholic school. But all the security/police were chill it seemed.
Where I live, Everybody smokes.
They might require you to go to some sort of addictions counseling
I’ve seen marijuana do a lot of harm, but not nearly as much as alcohol harmed me.
The problem with marijuana is some weed users have it in their head that “weed is harmless”…these tend to be decently intelligent and free-thinking people too…but they think weed is harmless and they think it’s okay to be high “all the time”. I have an online friend who’s been high for ten years straight. Doesn’t realize how much marijuana damages him. I think 1 joint a week is okay. Which is what I would do if it was legal. But too much of anything is bad.
Alcohol is more damaging physically, spiritually, and possibly mentally. But weed when abused is pretty dang bad too!
I trace a lot of my mental illness to some of the prodigious drinking I did.
They make you stay after school and write on the chalkboard a 500 times: I will not smoke the devils weed anymore, I will not smoke the devils weed anymore…
You become the most popular student on campus.
"What happens if you get caught smoking weed on a US college campus?"
a wild lion comes out of the bushes and attack you. just kidding.
I did my undergrad from 1998-2002, and yeah, they just turned a blind eye. I lived in a dorm the first three years of that, smoked plenty of cannabis in my room, and I never got into any sort of trouble for it. I’m sure the smell made it out into the hallway, despite my efforts to hide it.
The Frat House that I belonged to was saturated with all kinds of drugs, including hard drugs like Acid and Cocaine.
They were into dealing and never got in trouble for it.
The Authorities turned a Blind eye basically.
Nobody gave a ■■■■.
(I was not involved)
You know I have the utmost respect for you wave. But technically acid is a soft drug
Hard drug----can kill you and is addictive
Soft drug—can’t kill you and is not physically addictive
By the truest definition of hard vs soft drugs
But lsd is very very very illegal. So they were dealing schedule 1 drugs which is rare to see authorities turn a blind eye to.
Yeah you are right @Goyankees
Especially by today’s standards.
i once saw afro man at some frat house… he had 4 very uhh large women selling food and weed… I avoided the weed but it turns out the candy had thc in it anyway so I don’t remember much after that and had a bad headache the next day… I don’t think most people care… campus security may write you a ticket but if you get caught with a stupid amount im sure they contact someone with real authority…
It depends on the college. No one will care at an extremely liberal college, such as Berkeley. At a conservative religious college you could easily get expelled or have police called on you if someone snitched on you. Most universities are fairly liberal though, so as long as you’re not doing it in the open it’s not likely anyone is going to care.
It’s not that long since I was in uni (2 different ones in the uk - between 2010 and 2015) and nearly everyone smokes weed and did other drugs in general and no one I knew ever got into trouble
Private schools tend to have their security depts handle it. At my school fiirst offence was a $300 fine, 2nd and you could get expelled.
Public schools often have police for security so you can be arrested.
Now that you remind me. I had to see the dean when I got caught with weed. theree might have been a fine but I had to write a letter or something and attend a school activity as my punishments.
