What does Christmas mean to you?

You, sir, have went even further up the ranks in my opinion to quote Reacher.

Christmas (or Festivus for the rest of us) means that it is time to revisit certain classic seasonal films:

  1. Home Alone
  2. Die Hard
  3. Die Hard 2
  4. Krampus
  5. A Nightmare Before Xmas
  6. Anna and the Apocalypse

I was heavily attacked 25 yrs ago on Christmas eve.
My nose was broken, two guys got my phone (mobiles were rare that days), and I went home.
Told my parents not to call me on mobile again, and that I was beaten.
Nokia had sleeping Snoopy on screen :slightly_smiling_face:…
After two days, police, ambulance guys, and my father came to my door.
I was hospitalized first time.

Recently, during living in city, I experience something on Christmas.
I’m calm that day, and if snow is falling, that is perfect. I feel lite.

Hey zoa, sorry that happened to you, I was beaten a few times when I was young, there was a crowd of 15 or 20 one time and I was hit on the head with a bottle and robbed, not very nice at 14yrs old, it was before I was ill and I think it was a miracle I managed to crawl out when they had me up against the wall (i’m pretty sure something was looking out for me that day) & It may have been the start of my downward spiral.

I hope you have a good Christmas anyway, I like snow as well.

I’m glad you’re still here, I don’t think I’d have fought if someone had a gun, I’d just give them everything,

I like getting a meal at New Years as well, we have steak pie and we do the count down, sing the national anthem & watch the fireworks at midnight

Christmas used to be busy when I was in the Marines. That’s when everybody gets leave and travels and we visited our family.

Kind of relaxed now. I don’t have to travel. Still we go visit every one.

I like the lights and outdoor decorations.

New Year’s Eve I don’t see anymore. I have no desire to see anything but the back of my eyelids at midnight.

But I like New Years Day. I cook cabbage and black eyed peas. One of my favorites. I call it Cajun Bioled dinner. It’s like New England boiled dinner except no corned beef I use sausage and lots of Cajun seasoning. It’s quite good and easy to make. Cornbread goes good with it. And there is always a football game on.

I would also be open to her doing some twerking.

Seriously, I’ve said several times to leave religion out of the Christmas posts.

Next one that does it gets suspended if I see it.

And educate yourselves on the origins of the holiday. There’s been winter solstice celebrations for millenia. What we celebrate today is a mix of all of them.

I didn’t mean to, I saw someone say exactly what I got in trouble for…I didn’t think it mattered since they asked what it meant to each person…sorry. I won’t ever do it again. @anon4362788

I love it, but I love all holidays. I really love getting people presents and decorating. I’m determined to have Christmas-y bedding eventually. I have stuff for every room downstairs but my pantry. I’ve felt unattached the past couple of years, but I’m hoping to do better this year. I’m scared of what Ghost may do to our decor, though.

Anyhow, I love it so much because I get to show others how much I care about them and pay attention to things they’d like. I don’t have to deal with anyone outside my immediate family, though. Me, hubby, and the kids only for about 16 years now.
