What do you set your thermostat too?

I know not everyone has control over the temp in their dwelling, but if you dont, what temp is it in your place if you know?

If you do have control over temp, what do you set it too?

We are anticipating our first heating bill in the new house so are keeping it low.

We usually do 62 to 64 when we are awake and turn it down to 60F when we are under our blankets sleeping.

Its a bit chilly, but we dont know what to expect out of our first heating bill and are roughing it a bit until we find out how bad it is going to be. This will be the first charge period where we have had to use the furnace.

Dang, you keep it chilly brother. Smart move though if you haven’t had a heating bill yet.

In the winter I keep my thermostat at about 73 to 72 degrees. It’s an old kinda wonky thermostat so if I try and set it at around 68 or 70 it will get down to 65 in here. I currently have it at about 72 as it’s pretty cold outside.

YEah, I need to get up and get my License changed over to this state so that I can apply for heating assistance.

Was planning on doing it in the upcoming week but we had a pretty severe snowstorm yesterday and Im not sure I want to make the long drive to get it.

This city has its only Drivers license place in a nearby city and you have to make an appointment early in the morning the day off to get in. So it is quite the chore to get it done.

Damn, that sounds like a real pain in the ass LOL.

I hope you can get heat assistance, and I’m betting you will be able to. I have that benefit and I could probably nuke my place in the winter if I wanted lol, but I prefer a cooler climate to sleep in.

I have a system that comes on in the morning for an hour at 19 C and for most of the evening at the same temperature. But only if its lower than 19 C in my flat. And when it gets cold (or I feel too cold in a woolen jumper/shoes etc) I turn it on to 19 C or so whenever I want. I try not to use it all the time but I use it a lot. I never put it higher than 20.5 C.
I know quite a few people (without SZ) who don’t use their heating because they say they can’t afford it. I literally can’t live like that. It takes too much of a toll on my mood and can make me very depressed.

I’ve been keeping my thermostat at 78°F. I hope I don’t burn out the furnace or something cause it’s like below 30 outside.

I keep mine at 72. I pay $114 a month. I’m on the budget too. So that helps balance out payments. Good things.

I set it to 75F. My heat is included in my rent, so I can crank it up.:smiley::smiley:

My house is very drafty so I usually crank it up between 75 to 78 degrees

I keep mine at 71 F. I don’t have to pay for heat, just electricity. My electric bill, tho, gets really high when I have to plug in the engine block heater in my car when it gets below zero. That keeps the fluids in my car from freezing.
