What do you hoard?

What do you hoard? I hoard too much electronics and food, I dont know why, my parents get pissed at me. I have 14 big drawers full of working electronics like gadgets, computer components, cables, etc I also have many working monitors. I have 2.5kg of matcha green tea, 2000 green tea bags, 12x500ml fish oil, etc My parents want me to sell the electronics but I am too attached to them so I cant.

I have a lot of books. I don’t have a big house so I hate just collecting crap. But I have 4 large bookshelves of books.

I hoarded video game systems, video games, and strategy guides to video games (I had lots and lots and lots of strategy guides). Then I had to move to California and could only take what I could carry in two suitcases, so I sold off my most precious items (mostly unopened video game collector editions) and threw away the rest and moved. No hoard anymore, and all my video games are digitally purchased, I just download them, no boxes to store.

Some of the guides sold well, most didn’t. My most precious items were my four dot Hack PS2 games complete with companion movie dvds and my unopened Dot Hack sequel trilogy, also for PS2. They sold for 800 dollars altogether.

I also got a couple hundred dollars for my Earthbound SNES cartridge.

I don’t usually hoard stuff but I currently have a substantial supply of TP, paper towels, Kleenex, hand sanitizer, soft soap, and Clorox sanitizing wipes. I also have a decent supply of canned goods, rice, and pasta and plenty of my dog’s dry kibble. Oh, and I have an impressive collection of face masks. :mask:

Mostly clothes, but I’m trying to get rid of things I don’t wear. One of the last places I lived, I left about 10 pairs of sandals and thongs, because I didn’t want to clean them and regret it now, since the ones I have are worn out.

I hoard paperwork. I have assignments from college, credit card statements, paperwork from being hospitalized, pretty much anything paper I can’t bring myself to throw away. I bought a paper shredder last year but I hardly use it.

I have something like 2,000 Firefox bookmarks that I almost never look at. Lots of really cool websites. They’re like seashells to me: useless, but so beautiful that I can’t help but collect them.

After the trauma of quarantine, Mr. Star has started hoarding pantry items. We have like 20 cans of soup, 25 lbs of flour, 10 lbs of sugar, etc. We all took it pretty hard when we couldn’t get food during quarantine, but it was hardest on Mr. Star and Starlet because they grew up with food insecurity.

I am hoarding oxygen. I am a heavy smoker with bad asthma.

If you are really doing this, I sincerely hope you are not storing the oxygen anywhere near where you smoke. Your house could explode.

Thanks for the advice. I take it on board, but i never smoked at a petrolstation.

Books, graphic novels, and DVDs for me. I try and keep my apartment somewhat neat and tidy though.

I’ve been utilizing my library a lot lately for books and movies.

I tend to stack up too much health food and supplements. It’s mostly because I have to buy large quantities abroad in one shipment because there is a large toll to pay for each parcel, so I need to make a years worth in one parcel or else I would have to pay like 40 bucks in shipment for every parcel that I order. Also I have tended to try a lot of stuff, but then opting not to use them after all, so a lot of stuff is just sitting idly in the shelves. I guess I will have to throw away some of it eventually when it expires. I’m pretty much through with the testing phase now though, so from now on I will only buy thing I will actually use. (I hope) :relaxed:

Electronics and antique cameras. The electronics are gone, I’ve gotten rid of every single thing that I’m not using other than a few necessary spare parts and cables. I’ve reduced the camera collection by about a quarter and am still working on it.
