Oliver sacks books are fun. He was a neurologist that wrote about peoples experiences with brain disorders or abnormalities. Like a brain surgeon that has Tourette’s or an artist that lost all color vision and saw the world only in black and white. They’re educational and easy enough to read. Each chapter is a new disorder with a new patient. He became close with the people he wrote about.

Read fantasy or science fiction. The good stuff is a journey in itself but it’ll make you appreciate reading. Like you can read medical texts and it’s all rather droll. I read for entertainment and even these days I’m reading more than watching television which is cool.

If your reading then read the non fiction about subjects your interested in. Music, Politic, sz…get into the habit of reading is good because it helps in the long run so read what interests you is what I’m saying!

I’m reading Harry Potter… Again… I’ve never been able to finish the series and I’m trying to get through it this time… I have a strange fear of reading and watching stuff I’m not use to

I listened to Leopold’s Ghosts the audio book. It was amazing. I would recommend it if you want an interesting tale of some history. Unbelievable what went on in the Congo and Leopold’s role. But yeah read stuff you’re interested in. Those are my two recommendations though. Oliver sacks has some good ones then Leopold’s ghost’s.

This question depends on what you want out of life.

I wanted inner peace and less self loathing, so I read:
The Gifts of Imperfection, by Brené Brown
Self Compassion, by Kristin Neff

For motivation and time management, I read:
Atomic Habits, by James Clear
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, by Stephen R. Covey
Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman

It’s important to remember that with any self help book, you may feel angry reading it, because the self feels threatened whenever personal growth happens. It will resist the change, because it doesn’t want to “die.” So it’s good to have a social worker or therapist, while you read through the book. Also, with the time management books, I found that I hit my limits sooner than a regular person, because of fatigue, so don’t feel bad if you can’t do some exercises in these books.

Also, if you hear voices, the book Overcoming Distressing Voices, by Mark Hayward, Clara Strauss, and David Kingdon is one of the best books out there.

That kind of easy-reading books FOR YA, whatever literature, science… , if I may say

The first book is called Color of Magic, but it has very little to do with the rest of the books. Honestly, a lot of the books don’t have much to do with each other. They exist in the same world, but they don’t go in order or have the same characters. I would recommend starting with Equal Rites or Guards! Guards! because those are the first book in their own longer arcs dealing with those characters. Or just grab a book at random and start.

Take care, guys, i advise Paul Auster and Kurt Vonnegut on my first thought, but right now am quite dumb too… i also love Bukowski for his hardships and his wisdom, but youll see about him…

I’m so glad you picked Heinlein, it’s my favorite work of science fiction. I’m very glad you like it too.
Yes I do find that I identified with the stranger too. I won’t give away too much of the story.
Those are some of my favorite books that I can remember off the top of my head.

48 laws of power audio book is decent. I still haven’t finished it. Plenty of good analogies in it.
