It went fine. Everybody was friendly, and I heard a lot of good things from other people. It was all familiar and relaxing and it felt good.

The last meeting I was at was in hospital, and that was about 3 years ago. I first went to AA in 2003. That seems a lifetime ago now. I had a slip 3 years ago, so I’m just 3 years sober now.

I drank an Italian lager last night at dinner and threw away my 90 days of sobriety. It wasn’t worth it but ever since the diagnosis I have a hard time caring.
