I bought some Franks Xtra Red Hot Sauce out of curiosity and couldn’t taste any heat. So I chugged the rest of the bottle out of curiosity (over 250ml). Still didn’t get any heat out of it and no stomach upset. I may be eating too much Indian food if I can’t taste spice geared toward average Canadians at all.
Edit: Some time back I slammed two Carolina Reapers blended into a can of tomato juice. I felt THOSE for sure. It was like having burning jet fuel work its way through my system.
I’ve never understand the fascination some have with ‘as hot as you can cope with’ sauces. I like my food to be flavoursome/well seasoned, but for me ’ too hot’ can take away from how flavoursome the food is. Anything beyond ‘mouth mildly tingling’ is too much for me.
