I’m on clozapine 325
It does make you gain weight. I crave carbohydrates and sugar. Some of my weight gain may be due to comfort eating also I don’t exercise as much as I used to
I think you can manage the weight with diet and exercise

I started to gain weight from Zyprexa
Fast forward, I been on Clozaril for the last 10 years
Yes it has made me gain some weight, but it was the only medication at the time to silence the voices etc. Fair enough exchange
Like @shellys12 I too have cravings for sugar and carbs…need my soft drink every night.
But I am working slowly on diet and exercise
Every second day I drink can of either Bubly or Aha
Trying to get my mind on exercise now.
Like she said, diet and exercise and it shouldn’t be bad
I started clozapine at 110 pounds and within 6 months i was 170 pounds i quit it about 12 years ago and am now around 135 and working on losing a little more.

I have been losing weight on clozapine but only by following a very strict diet. I, too, crave sugar and carbs, and I also feel like sleeping all the time.

The weight on Clozapine ain’t worse that other atypicals like Seroquel or Zyprexa. If I suffered mentally much and none of the meds. I’d tried helped then I would go for Clozapine.
I’m on Seroquel 900 mgs and just like with Clozapine there’s some weight issues.
But I prefere being over weight than mentally miserable.
