Is there anyone here who took clozapine and yet did NOT gain weight?

I don’t understand why they are putting you on it if you’re not a good candidate?

I know of two ppl on clozapine. One is morbidly obese but the other is in the healthy weight range. However, she works very hard to do so it’s not just easy to maintain.

One of my housemates is on clozapine and is slowly losing weight. It’s good because she’s not working super hard at it, just being careful.

I think I’ll talk her out of it. It’s not a good choice for me

i gained a little bit of weight but i’m not sure it’s cause of the clozapine as i’m also on risperdal consta and sertraline…
but my weight is more or less stable even when on clozapine.

I went up to 325lbs when I first started Clozapine. Then I stopped drinking pop and dropped down to about 260lbs. :cow2::cow2::cow2:

I’ve been on clozapine for fiftheen years.Its notorious for wait gain.I gained 60 lbs on hospital food in three weeks.
Took me ten years to loose it,and I was only on 75 mgs.

Clozapine was not for me. Some folks can take it though. I hate weight gain on meds. Hope it helps y’all.

Clozaril caused me to go from 13 stone up to 21 stone in 3 years, took me ages to lose the weight!

I’m on clozapine. I take 3 APs,
so i don’t know which is responsible
for my obesity. I have gained many kgs

Does it cause extreme hunger? Like, do you feel like you’re never full? That’s how it was for me with Seroquel

Yes it does pianogal. you have an insatiable hunger on it, the worst medication for weight gain but the only anti pychotic that worked for me!

I’m not competent to advice you but I just want to say that I gained some weight I was on it for half a year. But I also have seen many skinny people on Clozapine. It really improves the positive symptoms so much better than other drugs and you get a good long sleep on it and wake up very refreshed.
