Weight gain on aps?

Hey guys. as above, when i first went on clozaril, i went from 14 stone to 21 stone, i am now back to 14 stone again,I have a very good diet and i go walking for an hours walk every day, thoughts?

I was 85kg and now I am 114

I gained a solid 20lbs. I am stuck at 180 which is a lot for me. I’m usually lean muscle at 160lbs. I’ve curved the weight gain though. I was snacking a lot in between meals.
The key for me has been to resist the urge to overeat. Although I still get caught stuffing Oreos in my face. But maybe instead of 3 Oreos I’ll just take 1. Try to moderate what you eat.

I ballooned up to like 245 lbs. Ive lost a few pounds now and am down to around 235 lbs. Still well over my ideal weight.

I’m about 80 lbs. over my ideal weight. The ap’s played a major role in this.

Did you lose all the weight while you were still on clorazil?? I am trying to lose weight right now. I am on a 1200 calorie diet.

Gained 150 pounds on Geodon in 20 years.

I’ve gained 35 lbs on clozapine as well as Invega.

When i went on a high dose of aps i went from 90kg to 135kg im on a lower dose of another antipsychotic called Haloperidol im now 108kg but i still havnt been able to loose the extra weight for a couple years due to the meds.

Hey november, i did lose all of that weight on clozaril, but it took me 5 or 6 years to lose it all, no junk food no sodas or soft drinks lots of fruit and veg, excercise every day for a hour and a half every day It is very hard but it is doable, best of luck!

@seanieireland Thank you for replying. Okay I guess I need to work harder! Good luck in losing even more.

I gained 72kg in a couple of years since starting aps. Was 58kg now 130kg.

No I lose weight all the time when I excrete waste material. It’s the eating and drinking that’s the problem.

When they put me on Zyprexa I gained 60 lbs. in 120 days. I hope some of the normies can understand the ambivalence most of us feel about our med’s. I was so much stronger before they put me on a major tranqulizer. I am grateful to have a med. like Geodon, though. It hurts my body, but my mind remains sharp.
