We decided that since the very small older dog has become very aggressive with our very large puppy, and the puppy is huge and needs training, we needed to hire a trainer. We start end of next week.
The guy has 53 years of experience and all 5 star ratings. He trained police dogs for a few decades.
In re: allergies to the puppy, I’m now taking 3 allergy meds a day and no longer getting hives.
He’s expensive but we think he’s worth it. We’ve been saving up for the last 3 months to pay for dog training. Between my husband and my income, and our daughter’s savings from her income, we can manage.
He doesn’t want to play and she keeps trying to get him to anyway. Plus, she’s bigger and easily steals his bones.
He now lunges at her neck and face in attack mode. It’s not good.
The good news is that he has such messed to teeth from all the abuse he endured before we got him, he can’t hurt her by biting. But we still want to stop the behavior completely and asap
I have a corgi and once tried to introduce a husky with him, he rejected the husky tried to kill him. Had to give the husky away to someone else, though I never tried training.
I’m sorry to hear that. Since my older dog can’t hurt the bigger and younger dog, I don’t have to get rid of the puppy. I just need to train him to not do that. The trainer says he can help us stop that behavior
