OMG! Our new huge puppy

Looks exactly like pics online of Irish Wolfhounds which are even bigger than what we were told she is which is an Anatolian Shepherd mix!

Wolfhounds are even bigger than Great Danes! I’m tempted to save up and get her a dna test!

Congrats on the new pup! Sounds like she’s going to be a monster sized dog! They give the best cuddles.

Yes. She’s affectionate. Young and full of energy but still sweet. It’s sometimes hard to keep her occupied. She goes through bones super fast. I got her a bone the specialty pet store lady said would be safe but also last a long time. Unfortunately, sh ex doesn’t chew it. Ugh.

I love the way big dogs look & they make me feel safe but don’t like the big poops or if they pull when they walk or counter surf!! Probably I’d rescue if I ever got a big dog. I have a pug. We didn’t believe he was purebred for the longest time because he had such long legs and was so skinny and was absolutely crazy, we thought he was a retro pug (jack russel terrier pug mix). However we got a DNA test and he is 100% pug! Now that he’s a bit older he grew into his legs and looks like a typical pug too. He’s still crazy as hell though!!

Lol! @Anna , your pug sounds like a puppy! At least he’s still feeling well enough to be playful since he’s older.

We may be getting another dog ourselves. The person we got our last two GSDs from has a health crisis and has closed their business. So a bunch of dogs need homes.

We already buy enough food for 2 and pay the extra pet rent for 2, so it’s not a big deal.

@anon4362788 , My stepdaughter is starting to feel the strain of the costs of her new puppy. She’s going through bones super fast and is needing more food now that she’s grown some since getting her. We warned our daughter but she swore she could afford all this. I’d feel bad for Brownie if she has to go back to the family we got her from because she’s adjusted and become attached to us and wouldn’t understand.

I’ve never had a German Shepherd, but I hear as long as you socialize them starting really young, and do lots of training with them since they’re super smart and get bored otherwise, they’re amazing dogs.

We want a picture of the dog!

Why would she need to go back? Sending her away would stress her and emotionally damage her

@ZombieMombie , If she can’t continue to pay for the dog. She agreed that she’d be responsible for all costs because we told her we can’t afford another dog. We told her what it would cost to vaccinate, feed, train etc. She makes good money for what she does so she told us she could afford it. But now she’s struggling. We have bought some bones but that’s also her responsibility.

It’s unfair because so far, we’re the ones who play with her, we’re the ones who walk her, we’re the ones who train her. We make sure she has food and water in her bowls. All my stepdaughter does is sit in her room with Brownie with the door shut and let her out to go potty once in a while. She leaves us to watch the dog all the time while she goes out, and while she works. Brownie can’t be left alone yet because she gets into trouble still if you’re not watching her but that’s normal at her age. She’s 6 months old I just realized.

She sounds like she’s not up to carrying the responsibility of a dog. Poor doggy.

Yeah @anon17326926 . I love Brownie and have decided I’m willing to do all the work. But she absolutely must pay the bills.
