so we don’t have to overdraft a check this month for groceries !! yayyyy…I am soooo happy…
Ours hasn’t yet. Probably end of the month like last month.
Have you tried budgeting to make the food spread? I nornally only get 300 for 7 people. We have to be very careful and use food banks
we get double covid payment … $250 for two people…seven people !! My, you have a big family !! you should be getting more…we get $125 at the first of the month…I plan on buying more meals for the money like ramen, hot dogs, baked potatoes and canned goods…yes…
Ramen is really tasty when you stir fry it with greens. I use well drained greens. You can add other veggies. Just cook it normal, drain well, and throw in a pan that has butter and garlic and green. So tasty.
Oh and don’t forget hot dogs with mac and cheese. My kids love it.
Do you use food banks? It sounds like you should. Different banks are open at different times of the month so you can get food throughout the month
I live in a very small town and our food bank gives out horrible food…mostly noodles and some frozen hamburger and canned goods that have expired…so we don’t do that…we might have to resort to going to churches though…they help too…
Glad you got them !
I have been checking around here to see what the food bank situation is. Most here are run by churches.
That’s great that you can get some extra help.
Brown rice and black beans can stretch your budget really far. Not all that appealing for the palette but if things get super tight it pays to keep several bags of each on hand. Imho.
I’m glad you got your food stamps. I got some and it has been great, because I didn’t have furniture and was able to buy some, since I didn’t have to spend so much on food. Last month there was no extra food stamps and I found out how great and cheap, popcorn and eggs and toast are.
Oh I’m glad the churches help out.
