If I watch a movie at the cinema, something makes me feel unsettled. If there’s a lot of violence in there I will feel paranoid when I leave and will be slightly scared to walk alone…
Violence is a trigger for me…
Same thing happens to me when i go to the cinema i just cant relax
I’m like this with video games. I can’t take too much violence as I used to be able to. I am slowly upping my tolerance for it with everything I play/watch though.
I can’t read newspapers it really seems to effect me.
Why newspapers?
I havent heard of that one before
I cannot read negative news about killings and deaths and other negative stuff… It really effects me emotionally. I might not notice at first but the longer I read that stuff the more it effects me.
I don’t have the ability to concentrate long enough to watch a full movie anymore but I have to be careful what I watch on TV. I miss out on a lot of good shows like Criminal MInds and NCIS because I can’t deal with violence either. Guns are a particular trigger for me.
Newspapers cause delusions of reference to me
Myself as well. Rape scenes get to me. Especially M on M. But all rape is horrible either way.
i used to be able to watch what everyone else watched, but then it became clear that nothing that is on tv / film / etc. that has violence in it does any good for the world. it may very well be that studies are inconclusive about violence in video games causing violence in real life, but with or without the studies, seems pretty clear that there is no good that can come out of anything that has any relation to violence. evil begets evil. evil can never bring good. good can never bring evil. killing people in a video game - if this and everything else were categorised into two categories, good and evil, love and fear, where would a video game like this be found?
i cannot watch real or even animated films anymore that have violence in them. it’s gotta be pretty much g-rated and for kids. might sound pathetic. but that’s how it is. schizophrenia and voices, especially, are stronger / less strong according to environment. might be that you live in a very nice neighborhood, but if you’re watching horror movies and stuff every day, that still encompasses your environment, and it’s going to be reflected in the voices you hear.
