I’ve become disillusioned with Alcoholic Anonymous and been going to Narcotics Anonymous meetings. Today I just got my NA sponsor, and he doesn’t approve of me taking Klonopin. Feeling bad about letting my AA sponsor go. I’m going to ask my pdoc about getting off Klonopin again. The last time I did it my case manager thought I was anxious and had my pdoc start the Klonopin again. Is there any other drug for anxiety besides a benzo I could take? It would have to be reasonably priced as I am on a fixed income.

Vistaril. But I take ,05 Klonopin .vistaril is hydroxyzine supposed to I can’t think yet. Some guy yelled whore at me for taking a shower. I don’t even know if it’s real. I guess I’m growing a spine. ■■■■ this ■■■■■■■ shiy. I know it’s false I’ll go back to worry.

Yes if they can taper of your Klonopin. Vistaril is all I can remember.
I take Buspar for anxiety; benzos did’t work for me.

I take CBD oil or hemp oil capsules. That treats my anxiety quite well. It also treats my arthritis pain very well.
I was on an ass to of benzos. They made me worse. My life is so much better without ■■■■■■■■■ you xanax and temazepam, May you benzos kiss my big toe. I’m alive now that I’m off those cns depressants. Those years are lost to me and are a blur. I was compliant and am so thankful my psychiatrist now says, umm, no. Woo-hoo, I’m liberated from the shackles of those mtf pills now. The withdrawals were killer, but no pain, no gain. i know have the opportunity to “feel” life and face things head on. Others might believe differently but I’ll never condone benzos ever again. I believe they should be taken off the market. There are lifestyle changes you can make that can help with anxiety…lots of them. Sorry to offend people but I call it how I feel it is. Don’t let benzos steal your life away

I had a gran mal after abrubtly stopping xanax and that was enough for me.
I just titrated down ever so slowly till I didn’t need it anymore and worked on my anxiety. I still do get anxious but I’m much better equipped in dealing with it. Best move I ever made getting off the benzo’s.
I don’t need a crutch anymore and have improved in all my social interactions. That may not be realistic for a lot but it’s doable for most I’d say!

I went off benzos on my own and the first time I had something like stupor, catatonia.
I couldn’t move or talk for about 2 hours.
each of the patients had been taking benzodiazepine medication for anywhere from 6 months to 15 years and that it had been rapidly tapered or abruptly discontinued 2 to 7 days before the onset of catatonia. These cases illustrate that severe and potentially life-threatening catatonia can develop in the wake of benzodiazepine withdrawal.

Some antidepressants have anxiolytic effects. My partner takes Escitalopram or Lexapro and it has done wanders for him. Your pdoc should be able to recommend a suitable alternative

Yes, yes avoid benzos,
I got off benzo’s. It was bad. Nobody ever told me they were addictive, you’d get withdrawal and you needed to taper. So at first, I just stopped taking them. Which caused horrible symptoms - psychosis, depression, anxiety.
In the end I slowly tapered. Yes, you feel bad for a while. But it gets better and is so much better to be free of them!
I personally believe it is better to try not replace them by some other addictive anxiety drug, but just get off them.

Currently coming off Klonopin and quitting smoking at the same time. The psychiatrist put me on gabapentin for anxiety so that may be an alternative too.
I am trying to get off diazepam. I am down to one a day. In two weeks, I’ll be down to half of that.

After 14 years I quit benzos and the hardest thing to get used to was consciousness. On benzos I was not really fully there.

Disagree life is easier an I feel I can go out an work because of my Klonopin. To each his own
I shouldn’t have said that. Benzos can be beneficial and help people. I had problems with them from raising my dosage.

You didn’t sound as negative as Me. You voiced what your experience was, I see nothing wrong with that. I was the one crossing lines, but I honestly hate what they did to me, and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. If I get slapped on the hand, ok. But I don’t think yours was out of line
