Hi robertc. I recognize you from other post about ulotaront. I read them all lol.
I was expecting 2 years for it to get released in the usa. But 5 years for canada ?! Yikes. Hopefully it comes to canada sooner then that. There are some drugs that come to canada a year after they came out in america. Or a year and a half. So im hoping its the same with ulotaront.
@robertc you sure know a lot about the procedure. Im suffering pretty badly with negative symptkms and cognitive decline. Im hoping to switch on the med ulotaront when it comes out cause i believe it will help with those things ssince it dosnt antagonoze dopamine and serotonin receptors. Wish the wait wasnt do long though. This med sounds promising why cant they release it already lol.
I would say if 3 trials are still recruiting, then they did not meet the completion estimated target. The completion date is only an estimate set at the beginning of the trial.
@robertc i guess there having a hard time finding ppl willing to take a drug for a whole year. Hopefully they finish recruiting.soon. longer it takes longer for the drug to get released.
I know I am , I spend most of my time in bed pretty much not doing anything. Does anyone know if the med will change that ? Will getting a job & going outside to have fun be possible ?
Hopefully it does. But I realized that even abilify had the promise of helping out with negative symptoms of schizophrenia, and it doesn’t do that much on that front (at least for me) so I’m not getting my hopes up too high.
Yeah thats what im hoping for. That ulotaront will give energy. Take away the negative symptoms and improve my cognition. Im desperately waiting for that. Since abilify has made you bedridden. Why not switch meds and hopefully a different med will give you energy.
I’m waiting for this medication as well. I’ve been studying it pretty intensely for the last year. I’m wondering if it will go so far as to treat non schizophrenic people who are anhedonic which is ultimately what led to a schizoaffective type diagnosis for me. It seems to work similar to exercise which is beyond exciting.
I remember my youthdays in the 90. We were so excited about the new meds Risperdone and Zyprexa. They should be better for positives and especially negative symptoms and with few side effects. I tried both and they stopped working and they had both severe side effects and did’nt work for negatives so I decided to go on a typical that were 16 years older. That was Clopixol and I’ve used it now for a quarter of a century
Yeah w more years of waiting for the people on the usa. Ppl in canada like me have to wait like 4 or 5 years so you guys dont have it too bad. But 2 years is still a long time.
Hey man, where are you getting your information from? I read phase 3 trials will end November 22 , 2022. Sunovion (Ulotaront) is already talking about distribution including Canada. I understand FDA is American, but i’m sure Canada will follow suit soon than we expect. I really think in 1 and a half years will have the drug in Canadian pharmacies.
I watched a video on youtube posted by Sunovion the developers of Ulotaront. They say it could take 6-10 months for a medicine to be available for consumers after it has been approved.
Between May 2023 to September 2023 i’m hoping it’ll be in Canadian pharmacies.
