Vraylar efficacy

I’ve been on Vraylar a couple of months for “mental clarity.” Interestingly, it hasn’t perished my spiritual ideas or my phonographic memory. If anything, the med has sharpened my intuition for the “woo-woo” things in life. I may be living in a haunted house. I keep hearing my back gate banging to. Things that go “bump,” right? But it doesn’t really frighten me. There’s something I need to do to free this spirit, and I have a good notion as to how to proceed. My upshot is, Vraylar may have nothing to do with my “psychosis.”

Hi again. It doesn’t look like Vraylar does much for the frightening aspects of psychosis. However, it does seem to help with my abilities to think and write clearly. Dunno if I can recommend it yet, but I’ll keep you posted as long as this post stays open. Thanks.

I take vraylar too. I personally like it a lot but I am on a high dose (12 mgs a day).

Wow! Didn’t know it went that high. I’m on 6 mg. I started out on 3mg, then 4.5 mg.

6 mg a day is the recommended highest daily dose but my nurse practitioner likes me on a high dose.

Gee. I’m only on 3mg daily – only half what you say. So I guess I need to go higher. Gonna contact my med mgr right away. Thanks a lot!

Having dissociation problems and hearing voices. This is no joke. Thanks so much. Think I’ll opt for a strong dopamine blocker like that old Haldol. I was told that a higher dose may be needed in my case.

Hi. In the past week, it seems the Vraylar made my voices worse. They cropped up esp with increased anxiety. Starting Tue, I also noticed a drowsiness side effect continuing today. Will still stick it out until my next appt coming Wed. Am at 4.5mg/day.

After two months on it, it’s finally beginning to work to make me feel human again. Two months is an awfully long time, so I don’t know if I can recommend Vraylar. But I was told that the wait time is the same for all second-generation antipsychotics. Just when I was losing patience, it kicked in. Side effects: blurred vision and some dizziness. Otherwise, minimal.

The latest is this much: I’m not sleeping well on 6mg, and my singing voice is off key, not at all tuneful when I open my mouth to do “Hosanna in the highest” or “Alleluia, alleluia, Lord to whom shall we go?” Haven’t tried together with the choir yet, but I cringe in anticipation  Probably I was always bad, but now I hear it and repent for sucking at it. Still can probably add my bass guitar, however. It doesn’t matter, 'cos I am free of voices!! Thus so far, so good, and will continue with Vraylar. If I grow wings or webs between my fingers over the weekend, you will be the second to know. Thank you.

Side effect of Vraylar: rather severe pain, esp in back and rib cage, and also in my face. Feels like my brain is being clamped down on, but that’s supposed to happen. Heart is pounding. But delusions are going away, thank goodness.

WoW so seriously you could talk. Though thank you for reaching out to us borath. I think this is how you get people to read when they are just scrolling through the site. I wanted to inform you that these tricks are very common on people with schizophrenia. Just don’t feel bad yet, I know theirs alot going on for people like that

Latest report, 3/26/18:

I feel average on this med. Not egotistical, not driven to be the best at anything. I struck a few notes as “drummer” for Palm Sunday, but didn’t care that I wasn’t perfect. Sang with choir, but was just another voice. Felt so-so re: that as well. No egomania, and actually that feels a lot better. I’m just an avg Joe. This is after about 2.5 mos on the drug. I’m not incompetent, just not fussy about how I do things. Thanks for reading.

Report, 4/5/18:

Delusions nearly extinguished. No fear of religious ideas such as hell or the devil. These delusions used to cripple me, but now the med banishes them almost entirely.

Side effects minimal: some dizziness/lightheadedness, constipation maybe.

Overall, I think I can recommend Vraylar now.
