My doctor gave me Vraylar today. Has anyone else taken it? How was it?
It works fine for positive symptoms. Some also claim improvement in their negatives. But it gave me muscle twitches and spasms, especially at night.
I don’t want twitches but other meds give me that side effect where you want to move all. the. time. I hate that so much. I’m told this doesn’t do that.
I’m also trying to get positive symptoms back in line so I guess that’s why they went this way.
Only thing was insomnia, took a long time to work, and some sort of stimulation. The stimulation and insomnia is gone. It works well. It’s the only med that keeps me out of the looney bin. It’s my favorite medication.
It’s a bit pricey but insurance covers it and I pay only 15 a month.
I’m on 9 mg now. It works.
Similar weight gain to other meds. I eat like ■■■■ and don’t exercise. I have really, really bad negatives.
I was on Vraylar for like 3 months, but due to an increase in positive symptoms, we just recently switched back to 4mg of risperdal. We’re not sure why it didn’t work, as I was also tapering off of risperdal at the same time. I wonder if the two antipsychotics somehow cancelled each other out. Either way, I actually lost weight while on it, so that was a plus.
I was on a low dose of Vraylar and I became psychotic on it because it didn’t work.
I had to be hospitalized soon after taking it.
It was way too stimulating for me.
More than Abilify.
I am taking Vraylar. I don’t think it does that great for sleep but other than that I eat less! I take trazodone and a 10 mg of melatonin for that though.
For the most part I sleep fine. I have vivid dreams that wake me but other than that it’s ok. I will start the new med tomorrow and see what happens. Eating a less wouldn’t be a bad side effect after the quarantine
Just because I had a bad experience with Vraylar doesn’t mean it won’t work for you @Alice.
Vraylar helps a lot of people.
I’m on 3mg and I take it in the morning.
It helps me work and I’ve lost weight on it. It does feel activating.
I’m noticing that things taste different. I may quick smoking and eat less so that’s cool.
