Volunteering ideas?

I would like to volunteer at some point.

Have you found any volunteer options to be great or which volunteer options sound great?

So far I’m thinking an environmentally involved one. Like to do with recycling for example or conservation of wildlife.

Or perhaps one with animals thou I’m scared they might attack me

Maybe you could apply to places you are interested in like a zoo or something. They might consider it even if they have not got placements advertised for it. I think a lot of places wouldnt mind some free labour if they were offered it.

I volunteer at my cricket club. It’s not local anymore and it’s miles away in the city but it’s good. I interact with a lot of people and it gets me out of the house. Sporting and other clubs rely on volunteer labor. Maybe find something that interests you and try that.

The Humane Society takes in volunteers. The Libraries do too although it’s not as easy as it looks. There are volunteer jobs involving doing copying. There is VISTA jobs which pay you under minimum wage but gives you nice amounts of cash, or a scholarship which gives you some money for junior college (it doesn’t generally go very far for a regular college.) I once read of a volunteer job as simple as reading the water levels along rivers at various sites. And there’s volunteer weather observers with COCORAHs. But you have to buy your own rain gauge and computer.

In 2017 I volunteered for 5 months in the State archives. I had to digitalise ancient documents. Quit eventually to focus on studies.

I know some people that played music for the cancer patients in a hospital. But if it´s too emotionally demanding you can go to a nursing home and, in your case, for example draw pictures of them when they were young? Maybe…

When I wanted to learn Chinese I considered working for free at the Chinese restaurant.

Hey what about working at an art store?

If you like reading, go to reddit and check out the writing genre of your choice and try being a beta reader.

I’m really thinking about if I can stand to read unfinished work. I’m pretty fussy so I might give up on it.
