I hate it. I thought I was past this point, but I guess this is something I’m going to have to live with for the rest of my life
How long have you been back on your meds? It can take ages for them to work. So don’t give up hope.
Maybe you need a different treatment
It’s only been a few weeks, I suppose. I’m debating asking for a med change
That’s what I’ve been thinking
It took me several different meds …all didn’t work.
Finally got prescribed Clozaril and the voices have been gone for about 7-8 years now
Oh that sounds fantastic! I’m really worried about weight gain tho (in recovery for an ED). I was thinking of asking to try Geodon, I know it’s supposed to be pretty weight neutral
Really? No voices at all for 8 years?
That’s great. You’re lucky
When I was in the hospital two months ago my voices were the worst they’ve ever been. When I got home they stopped. Now they are back to only being as loud as my thoughts. And they are nicer. I’ve been the one who’s mean lately. Resentment.
Loxapine doesn’t cause much hunger, or abilify, or risperidal. I haven’t tried the newest ones. They may have stopped making ap meds that cause hunger. It really was terrible for me for over a decade!
I’m on Abilify right now. I’ve been having break through symptoms for months
Yeah thankfully. They were a pain for a couple years. I tried Seroquel, Abilify, Zyprexa, Risperdal (in order,) All of those I was still getting annoying loud voices. Doctor made me try Clozaril and it’s been great since. It does happen sometimes stuff like I hear my phone ringing or a notification sound and I go look and realize there was no activity
Man smokes hang in there auditory hallucinations are crazy bad. I know mine are don’t give up I pray it’s not permanent for you
I’m on Clozaril for two years now and it’s helped me stay sober; but the voices are still there.
Hey, congrats on your sobriety!
Thank you @anon2818416
I appreciate the compliment.
My voices have been amplified lately too. I understand your struggle @anon2818416. My symptoms are always ebbing and flowing, so it’s a constant headache tweaking my meds.
Good to hear bud. I too used to love drinking and smoking pot.
I only like a few drinks now from time to time but I need to be controlled lol I feel great for the night…no anxiety etc but the next day I always pay for it lately!
