Hi everyone- I just got word that this was effective for schizophrenia and I tried it, it works GREAT! It is vitamin B8, it is also called Inositol. It had a dramatic effect on my symptoms with no side effects, not a thing, it is harmless, only a vitamin. You can order it on Amazon or buy it from the vitamin store. Large doses of B vitamins also help, specifically B6 & B12, but B8 probably works the best.
What dose do you take?
What effect did it have on you?
I received some inositol today in fact, so I’ll be trying it now.
Just to reiterate,
Supplements are not an effective treatment for SZ, psychiatric meds are.
Large doses of vitamin b6 can cause nerve damage.
I took 1 1,000mg dose and some distressing thought patterns I was experiencing are gone, I also feel much less sick mentally now taking it! It dose have a sedative effect, I now feel tired taking it but it helps so much it is worth it!
I took 1000mg of b8 a few hours ago but felt nothing.
I’m having success with vitamin b1 and biotin and vitamin b6 (p5p variant) though.
I’ll keep experimenting…
We should start a guineapig club
Yes, good idea
Just curious, what symptoms?
I take a B complex and it helps with brain fog, anxiety, keeps me from feeling irritable and cranky and oddly enough it helps keep carb cravings at bay. It doesn’t help me with hallucinations though.
I was having some distressing thought patterns that were tormenting me and those were completely eliminated taking the B8! Also I was in severe mental distress, so bad I was thinking about going to the hospital but I took the B8 and I snapped right out of it, I feel much better now! However it only seems to have an effect for like 4-6 hours and then it wears off, I have been taking it every day hoping that it will build up in my system. I would highly recommend trying this, it has helped me alot! B6 & B12 also help but B8 works the best!
I just got some info on B8 on the internet, they recommend you take it twice per day so I will start doing that, that will help extend the effect.
Wow! I will look into B8 for myself then.
I am not surprised that you need to take it twice a day because the B vitamins are water soluble. They wash out of our bodies in a few hours.
I love testing out new supplements. Some work, some don’t.
Thanks
Again, I took 1000mg of inositol (b8) a few hours ago. If it’s having an effect then it’s subtle.
It might be calming me down a bit. Acting like a subtle sedative.
Nothing dramatic though.
Inositol is used up to 18grams daily for therapeutic effect, so you have some latitude there.
I never took more than 4grams a day myself. Now I take 1000mg daily, but that does it for me. No repetitive or “forced thoughts”.
without meds were would we be?
Inositol is giving me a headache and didn’t really seem to do much for me, so I’ll probably discontinue it. I was only taking 1gram a day.
Right. The plot thickens.
My appetite was greatly reduced when I was taking inositol.
So I just took 500mg instead of 1000mg now. I’m hoping I still get the appetite reducing effect but without the headache.

All you wanted to know about inositol!
I think I’ll try Inositol by Now Food,500mgs is 15$
It’s said that provides healthy brain
So, 500mg didn’t really curb my appetite for very long.
Today I took 1000mg again and it curbed my appetite for about 6 hours.
So I’m just after taking another 1000mg now.
That’s 2 grams today.
