Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) for Schizophrenia?

Hey, I just ran across and article on the internet saying that vitamin B1 (Thiamine) was effective for schizophrenia. I am already taking Vitamins B12 and B6 and they work great, I am strongly considering trying B1. I tried B8 too but that didn’t work. Has anyone already tried this? If so did it work?

Not sure, but I know B1 deficiency can cause Werneck Encephalopathy which can sort of mimic schizophrenia. Wouldn’t hurt to try at least.

Although I doubt it will do anything for schizophrenia to be honest, as long as you get the daily suggested intake, you should be fine.

Would be nice if some magical vitamin or supplement could just cure schizophrenia.

I don’t take B, not sure why, several others though, including a particular brain health gummie.

speaking of which, does anybody know if gummies are better than the swallowable?

Gummies are just to make them easier to ingest. And they taste good.

yeah. I prefer them. my mouth/throat is so dry.

I think I’m seeing more instant affect though, from gummies.

Hmm, maybe cause the nutrients are digested faster since you have to chew them, not sure. I always assumed they have unnecessary filling (gelatin) but I guess all supplements have fillers in them.

I take it as part of a B-50 pill. Have also taken it solo. I did not notice any benefit.

If only the b3 farce wasn’t a farce. We all likely wouldn’t be on this forum cause we would be cured by a simple vitamin. If only.

@Mr_Hope what kind of improvements have you noticed?

Better general wellbeing. I feel more normal. It also seems to have a positive effect removing pain and discomfort from my brain which I have been struggling with for a long time.

My old pdoc had me taking B1 back when I was drinking coz in his words “it just stripmines your body chemistry.” I continue to take it, but with the various other meds and etc I take it’s hard to isolate any specific good reaction. Certainly no bad reaction tho.

Tried this years back. No effect.

for me it’s helping too vitamin B1 thank GOD! Feel more normal too
