It was a small scale analysis, but they found normal levels of b12 in the blood, but in the brains of dead schizophrenics b12 was 3 times lower than healthy individuals.
A few months ago the AARP (retired association in US) recommended senior citizens take vitamin B12, so I started. My GP doctor said it probably is unnecessary.
Yea it’s best to listen to your doctor. I’m just posting things I research about schizophrenia.
Though it is interesting nevertheless.
LS! This is very interesting research. It could explain the accelerated brain aging in schizophrenia. Unfortunately the link does not work. For the last 25 years I took a high dose of vitamin B12. And my brain is in mint condition!
What about adults with autism?
thats kind of interesting, i was watching a video about steve o’s drug experiences and he talked about how he was hallucinating from doing large amount of nitrous oxide which is a known effect of it and it is also known to deplete vitamin b12, maybe b12 deficiency can exacerbate psychosis symptoms
Total cereal? I ate tons when I was pregnant.
It’s interesting. I do feel emotionally better when I take b12.
Could be a coincidence though.
Talk to your doctor before trying supplements.
LS! Hi Green! I am probably older and wiser than you. ( I am 63) Talking to a doctor can be a bad experience. I am at least as bright as most doctors. And most of the time doctors seem to make no sense at all.
Haha yea, I actually agree with you on that one.
