Vision issues

I’ve recently noticed I have to remove my glasses in order to focus on what’s on my phone, or the pages of a book.

The internet says it’s called presbyopia and it happens when you get older and the lens of your eye is less flexible.

The solution I guess is reading glasses, progressive lenses, or just keep doing what I’m doing.

Has anyone else reached this middle-aged milestone? And what did you do?

I wore glasses and contacts as a kid. My understanding was glasses are corrective? Perhaps you need to remove to focus because your vision has actually improved?

My eye sight changed when I switched meds

I had a cataract in right eye. Had it removed and put in the cheap lens that can only see distance. I now have a significant cataract in left eye. I cant see ■■■■ up close without glasses. I can see pretty good from distance, but driving at night in the rain is a real problem right now. Anytime it rains at night Im like scared out of my wits im going to crash because I cant see ■■■■.

When I get my left eye cataract removed, Im going to spend the money on the expensive lens.

As I’ve gotten older I’ve had to get progressive lenses put in my glasses. I couldn’t stand the line in regular bifocals but i like the progressives. I also have transitions lenses that turn dark in sunlight.

My parents got their cataracts removed and paid for those lenses, and it’s been worth it to them. It was like $6000 for both eyes.
