Very frustrating

So, this is personal. My husband and I have honestly been trying for another child for about 8 months now.

Well- since it turns out I have high testosterone, they put me on metformin to help with fertility… I guess it can be used for diabetes and PCOS…

Sucks that I’m only 29 and already having reproductive issues. They didn’t find any cysts on my ovaries but still they think I have PCOS.

Anyways, they gave me a prescription of metformin about a month and a half ago… I used it all and there was zero refills. They never told me I needed to keep taking it. They made it sound like it was 1 bottle and I’d be good.

Turns out I was supposed to keep taking the metformin. So now my cycle is all messed up again and my hot flashes are back. I am very annoyed and frustrated that nobody told me I needed to get more refills….

So now we basically have to start all over again with this child making. Aye yi yi. I thought this was gonna be the month.

Anyways, end of rant :triumph:

Sorry, @anon61987434 . I take metformin for diabetes along with 3 other meds. insulin, glipizide and ozempic.

Good luck on the long trek back.

Thanks! @Bowens

I guess the thing with PCOS is it also causes insulin resistance and in turn increases testosterone or something like that…

So that’s why I’m also prescribed metformin…

Best of luck managing your diabetes!

Hi @anon61987434 it took a very long time for us to concieve with a 2nd. Over a year.

Be patient. To be honest when i got pregnant i had given up so i think we were trying too hard.

Your still young and have plenty of time whereas me i am 40 now so i was on limited time.
