Anyways,

My husband and I have still been trying for another kid.

We’ve been trying for about 2 years now… and nothing.

Aunt flo is supposed to start soon and I’m so nutty that I have myself convinced that I’m pregnant this time…

But I’m not. All the pregnancy tests I’ve taken are clearly negative. Ugh.

My women’s health doctor told me if I got the LEEP procedure done, she’d refer me to a fertility specialist.

Well, NOW, she’s trying to tell me that I also need to get a cone procedure done… where they take even more of my cervix.

Doesn’t make sense to me.

I’m saying screw the cone procedure and her fertility referral and I’m just gonna hope I get pregnant the old fashioned way.

Have they checked your husband’s sperm count?

Sometimes that can be an issue.

I got pregnant naturally with my daughter after 6 miscarriages over the span of 4 years. I was 42 when I finally gave birth to her.

I don’t have any experience with those procedures you mentioned so I guess I can’t give you any advice other than to keep trying. It can take awhile for some of us.

It took well over a year to get pregnant with my second. And you’re supposed to be more fertile after your first.

I gave up trying and then fell pregnant with him. Apparently this happens quite a bit.

Nah, they haven’t.

I was diagnosed with PCOS awhile back/high testosterone…

So I’m sure that’s the culprit.

Wow, 42 huh?
I don’t mean that in a bad way.
It just gives me hope that there’s still time.

I think my sister took Metformin for that and got pregnant. It can help regulate cycles. It sounds like she wasn’t releasing an egg. Of course, I’m not a doctor.

Yeah, I took metformin for about a month and at the end of the month I felt weird as heck…

Like mentally.

I don’t even know how to explain it.

So I just stopped taking it…

But yeah, it is supposed to help regulate your hormones or whatever and stuff.

My brothers sister is struggling with fertility issues. It’s terribly stressful. Just make sure you don’t blame yourself, like you are somehow doing something wrong. Sometimes it’s really hard to get pregnant through no fault of your own.

I hope it works out for you though. The comfort you have is you know you’ve been successful in the past because you have a beautiful little toddler human as proof. So have hope. Try not to put pressure on yourself and have lots of fantastic fun with the making of the baby. :grin:

Many couples have trouble having their second child…get fertility treatment…then have multiples!

@Wonderer it sounds like they really want to take a biopsy of your cervix. Is it related to abnormal cells?

They already took a biopsy with a colposcopy multiple times, they did a LEEP procedure already to remove said abnormal cells and NOW, they also want to do a cone procedure… :triumph:

That sounds like the progression of procedures you go through to rule out cervical cancer.

If they still want to biopsy you, then they must still have some concerns.

What were the results of the LEEP?

I don’t mean to be invasive. I just went through all this myself.
