UK citizens: what PIP payment amount you get

I have paranoid SZ and applies for PIP, what size of payment I can expect?

I don’t get anything at the moment. They will probably put you on lower rate though.

Why you don’t get anything? Schizophrenia is a disabling disability

I didn’t get anything the first two times I applied. I have a suspicion it’s gonna get denied again.

What is the reason for them declining? I am getting worried

The first two times I went to the face to face assessment and to them I seemed fine and able and didn’t tick any of their boxes

I got denied the first time. Second time I had a letter from my CPN and they spoke with him on the phone, and I did not have to do a face to face and got it.

The system is ■■■■■■

the U.K. is now no longer part of the EU but even then I don’t know if he can apply from outside as a non resident and get it. But then again I don’t know the rules.

They used things like I am not with the cmht against me. Most of the questions cover physical disabilities too. I would get help from your cpn if you are applying.

Standard Rate £58.70 per week, paid 4 weekly. I didnt go for the mobility componant - Tho ive heard some Sz’s have got that too. I thought it would cast doubt on the whole claim, when i couldnt prove it completely.

For those applying - its absolutley imperative - you get cover letters from your shrink, and send them copies of your clinic letters as well. I dont know anyone thats got it, without the support from the CMHT. They wont just take your word for it.

You will always need a MH Professional to back you up. They had the personal number of my social worker at the time - and they rang up to confirm that i had Schizophrenia.

Never been to a medical in 20 years either. You really need a support worker, willing to write letters and make phone calls to the DWP in my experience.

DLA - high care & low mobility
PIP - standard care

I got cheated out of the mobility component by the assessor who reported that I just needed prompting on unfamiliar journeys . My brother who was with me had actually clearly stated I needed someone with me on such journeys .

My stepdaughter takes me shopping and to things like pdoc appointments . I periodically pay towards petrol . I don’t ask her to take me on non-essential journeys as I don’t expect her to do that for free . If I had the mobility component I’d pay her to take me places .
