Am not going to apply for disability when my existing claim runs out

Where I live they make it really difficult and you have to have a face to face assessment.

Yeah just can’t face this whole process (which is incidentally exactly what the government wants)

Sorry to hear that - cant you get your CMHT and support worker to send them a letter saying that you need a home visit for an assesment? Your in Scotland Right? Surely the rules are the same as in England. Dont let them beat you - You have a right to that money - fight it and dont be intimidated. :frowning:

The best way you can win is to create merry bloody hell with them. So long as you got someone on-side to ask for a home visit - i garuntee they probably wont even send you one. They will make you sweat for a couple of months before telling you officially that “you been placed in a support group” . If you got a diagnosis of sz - backed up with letter(s) from a Shrink - they cannot touch you. Been there mate - and not had a medical in 25 years.

(Under current Legislation with the DWP - Schizophrenia is
classed as a chronic and disabling illness) - dont let them fob you off!!!

for pip, i’m worried also about it but i will fight it, i wont go down without a fight, i will not go quietly into the night lol, but we are entitled to this @anon94176359 we have got a genuine illness and you take meds and all of that, i think if you get proper help filling it in it should be ok,

Where do you get the help to fill it in?

ask your nurse or maybe go to cab and have someone with you if it helps

if you want to talk to someone about it then phone the out of hours number or your cpn/duty nurse during working hours,

as far as i know duty nurse/cpn is between 9am-6pm then crisis team are 6pm-8pm then out of hours all the rest of the time.

My support nurse who does my depot filled in my application, as he had access to my medical notes and knew how to do it. He provided photocopies and stuff and handled a call from them which meant I didn’t even need an interview.

Ask your psych nurse for help. Mine offered to help me with the application, but he is pretty good.

If u have a welfare benefits team where u live they may also be able to help. Check online in ur area or ask ur pdoc bout that or cpn

guys, just curious what your award was if you dont mind me asking

£433 every 4 weeks PIP. Then ESA £125 a week as well. I feel well off with that.

I get housing benefit as well, but as I rent from a private landlord it doesn’t cover it. I have to pay over £100 a month top up.

He keeps raising the rent £20 a year. C *** !
