Two interviews today- Wish me luck!

I have two job interviews today- one for a position as an office manager (I REALLY want that one!), and the other is as a seasonal worker at a department store. I have an offer from another department store, but the store I’m interviewing with today is closer. I admittedly don’t think I’m up to the department store positions (standing for hours, so many people), so please send happy thoughts that I get the office manager job.

Good luck. :four_leaf_clover: 1515

yah! Good luck, hope it all works out.

Good luck @Happy_H!!!

Good luck! I pray one day I will be able to work again!!

I admittedly don’t know if I can, but I’m going to try. Never hurts to try, right?

Best of luck ! :sunny:

Good luck @Happy_H!

Good luck with your interview @Happy_H!

Gl with your interviews!! :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks, all, but it’s no good. I panicked and cancelled the interview. I can’t go to school if I work, and I would feel pressured to do both since I really want to go to school. I may take one of the seasonal jobs at a department store, but I just can’t commit to full time. I’ll focus my job-hunting on my husband’s career.

Now an insurance company called me and wants me to work part-time. I don’t want to lose my disability, though, because I’m scared I won’t be able to work and will have a hard time getting it back. But with part-time work, I could go to school, too, and not have as much stress as working full-time.

I’m so conflicted! I don’t know what I want.

I don’t think they take your disability away right away. I think there is a period that you can try working first and see if you can handle it.

If i’m not mistaken, they let you work for like nine months before you lose your disability.

I know about the nine-month thing, but I was planning on holding off on using that option until I’ve finished school. Maybe the part-time thing with the insurance company wouldn’t be too many hours to overwhelm me and wouldn’t cost me my disability.

I used up all of my 9 months last year and this year.

I didn’t lose my disability though. Sometimes I wish I did because then I would have no choice but to work.

Really they should have only counted 8 months but they said 9 so I have to wait 5 years I think to get another 9 months.

I got used to having extra money for the last several years because prior to that I was going to school and getting the GI Bill.

With three degrees it’s hard to find a job that will keep me under the $1170 monthly limit to keep disability unless I greatly under employ myself. I could only work like 15 or 17 hours a week not even fully part time.

SGA for 2019 is going up to $1220.

@TomCat I thought you had to make under around $850. Can you please explain? I am confused!

If you make less than $800 or so it doesn’t count as a trial work month. But you can make up to $1180 right now and not go over SGA and lose benefits. The rules are fuzzy. But making $1180 would count as trial work months but then afterwards you would be on extended period of eligibility.

It’s best to stay under the $800 and not trigger a review because working at SGA will get you reviewed.
