I started losing it last night, my irritability and snappiness was really bad after I took a panic attack. During the panic attack my whole body tensed up. When I decided to go to bed I made falling asleep a living hell for my boyfriend because I wanted to push him really far so he can hurt me (he never laid a hand on me). I had all this tension and wanted to hurt myself. Over the past 4 months, I have twice. I’ll scratch my arm until I bleed, it stops suicidal thoughts. I did it like a week before my injection, the two times. Now I get it Friday, and I managed to not do that. Since I had the urge last night and I’m getting in fights with my mom and boyfriend, my mom said I was being demanding,
Should I get my injection earlier? Or in the grand scheme of things, a couple days without it won’t do anything bad to me? I don’t know if the nurse has any availability.
Last month I got it 3 days earlier. I literally just saw my pdoc yesterday and my case manager, said I was in high spirits. (That is why I’m hesitant to reach out because how can a coin flip that fast)
as the day progressed I was thinking of spending a lot of money on a watch, and doing things at the last minute. Hours passed, I took a panic attack I used @Ninjastar coping skills with the ice on the back of my head (now I just heard a voice saying “you ruined it”.) I’m not going to let that stop me from tagging a mod, they deserve the recognition.
After the panic attack, I was snappy and on edge. Ive been trying to be stable, but my mind has had enough. I can’t focus because my mind is going everywhere with voices and thought. I injested a depakote at 630am, slept, coffee and a gummy vitamin. My mind is being really sensitive to everything and it just started last night.
Some people need their injection earlier. It’s not a cut and dry thing. Please call your doctor and tell them what you’re going through, and see what they recommend. You definitely shouldn’t be expected to just live with suicidal urges and panic attacks.
No, it’s like a sudden thing that happened to me and I woke up today with little concentration. It happens the previous months but I thought it was PMS, I got my period last week so now I know it’s definitely the shot.
Did these symptoms stop when you took the injection last time? If so, it would be probably be worth it to take it sooner as well. But like @Ninjastar said, you doctor will know best.
I’m wishing the best for you
Yeah, the symptoms stopped shortly after and then I was back to my old self. The side effects last month caused me to be on auto pilot when I walked to the bus and then I went into the bus terminal, tried using the vending machine and I couldn’t focus on swiping my card, some little boy was trying to say hi to me and I blocked them out until I saw their mother grabbing his hand and walking him away in a scared manner. So at first the medicine has negative effects when I get it, then it balances out.
Look into getting your shot every 3 weeks. I moved to the 3 week schedule because I had bad symptoms when the shot ran out about 7-10 days before my shot was due. Now I don’t have that.
