Trying to lose weight

Not really a sports fan of any kind. Well I enjoy a little UFC from time to time. Mainly I’m fascinated by the training though.

I’ve never been west really. I lived in Manitoba as a child and I maybe visit Saskatchewan as a child but I suppressed so much of my childhood I’m probably guessing. My sisters lived in Alberta for a few years. My one would tell me about deer just wandering around her town like they were domestic cats haha just part of the crowd.

It will be worth the discomfort?

@StripedShirtBoy The west is not as cold as it gets back east and is sparsely populated compared to the 12 million people living in Ontario.

God no. It’s such a bummer when I feel full. And I look pregnant sometimes. I have a lot of massive cysts in my abdomen right now as well so I feel discomfort almost always after eating. I’m having them removed soon. My husband is on vacation with friends so when he is back I’m going for the procedure and it’s supposed to let a lot of pressure off my stomach and other organs.

Yes. The pay off is better if I choose not to eat certain foods. It’s low water content foods that are the worst offender. I don’t remember regretting a binge of tomatoes or watermelon haha. It’s the darn bread and pastries.

And thanks! It’s not so bad. It used to be really awful. I think now it’s just like another thing that I silently suffer from. I’ve waited a really long time for this surgery. The downfall of living in the middle of nowhere I guess…waiting six months to see a specialist.

I have been using a slimming app the last few days, so I can keep a record of how many calories I have each day, there are several free ones to download.

I’m trying to lose weight. I just started exercising again this week. Between having a baby and the meds I’ve gained about 50 lbs in the last 2 years. And before that saphris caused me to gain about 100 lbs in about 6 months that I’ve still not been able to get rid of 6 years later. But I want to finally really lose it all.

First goal is just to lose 10 more lbs, though. Small steps.

I lost some weight few years ago and need to do it again. here are some point if that helps:

  1. Count calories. calories in< calories out to loose weight. read labels. You will be surprised how much calories a slice of pound cake can put on you and undo 2 hours of jogging.
  2. take the emotions out of food. do not turn to food for enterainment and go away from emptiness.
  3. stop snaking. When feel like snaking do some thing else that you enjoy instead ( playing video games, music etc).
  4. find out your ideal weight and calories you need to eat for that. if You can do just that strictly you would loose weight in long run and move towards your ideal weight. I know its easier said than done.
  5. cardio is the fountain of youth: do jogging ( out side instead of machine) or swimmming.
ideally right in the morning first thing empty stomach.
  6. find a partner and set up goals to work on.
  7. spring is around the corner, stay focused and enjoy weather as you loose weight.
  8. and yes, drink water or eat watermelon if really feel like snaking.
You reminded me that I need to do same as well, so these are kind of notes to self as well :-)…
    Wish you all the best,

That’s weird I live two hours north of toronto to. We’re probably in the same town.

What town do you live in!

Go Blackhawks. Yes, lots of meds cause weight gain/loss. How I’ve handled it through a gazillion meds for twenty years is portion control. Diets cause cravings especially sugar. If can exercise. It honestly depends on how you react to med. with latuda I couldn’t get out of bed, on abilify, I’m bouncing off the walls. But I put it this way in my mind which can be persuasive, but I demand myself to put my health number one. I’ve had so much baggage from every possible angle…not sz talking. I’m not having symptoms but have mania. I have to not drink caffeine or lots of sugary things or be around toxic people. Honesty, at one point in my life I gave up and starved myself to 83 lbs and now am 123 fit and active. I just know I need to eat, not drink alcohol, be active…do everything I can cuz meds haven’t solved all my probs. I have to take care of me though I’ve never liked what I saw in the mirror. However, I have to do my best

I’ve been trying to loose weight. I found that food diets don’t work aswell as dietary pills. You should try.

Omg no. They interact with meds. Your health is number 1! Portion control and talk to dr or nutrionist!

I gained 17 lbs, since June/ July. I had lost 6 lbs. of it, but I gained back 3, darn it! I need to work harder. I’ve been using a calorie website to keep track, I’ve just been doing a terrible job of eating within my allotted calories lately, hence gaining the weight back.
