Trying to justify or resist buying something

There’s this plugin for an amp simulator that I want. I don’t need it and I don’t play guitar much but it is currently half price. My birthday is next week and I could say it’s for that. I’m on the fence. I could use some input.

Thanks @AppleKidd !
I was hoping I’d play guitar more if I got it. I’ve already got two perfectly good free amp sims but I’ve wanted this one since I heard it.

Sometimes the good vibes you get from something is enough to motivate you to pursue the hobby/interest more!

If it can help you get back into guitar more then it sound like a good idea,

I’m the opposite, i just took up drum lessons and I’m looking at an expensive set of e-drums, they are a good price for what I’d get so i am torn between waiting until i have more lessons or just jump right in after 5 lessons.

Thanks @Resilient1
I don’t blame you, those e-drums are cool but you gotta spend money if you want the realistic features like choking a cymbal. My brother had a wicked set of mesh Rolands, sounded great but couldn’t mute the cymbal. Had to get Toontracks EZ Drummer software and route it through the laptop first via MIDI to USB cable to get the cymbal mute.
They are great for getting in all kinds of private practice and recording them is a breeze. If you’re exceling I’d say that they would be a good investment.

I tried Guitar a few times and i don’t think its for me, I’d still like to learn my keyboard and i have a push 2 just gathering dust and i want to learn that too.

with the drums, i’ve been making some really nice mixes on my daw using sounds from splice but i want to make a track and then listen to it and try and drum a long a beat to it. this is my idea anyway.

If it won’t hurt the bank, I say go for it if you think it’ll motivate you to play more

I guess it depends on what you are most passionate about. I really want to learn to play the violin, but the cheap ones being $200-$600 are not conducive to the sound I want to achieve. A hand carved violin costs a lot more. wish I could afford that.

I still have no income atm. Good luck.

That’s understandable. I recommend learning the keyboard, my brother seems quite content playing it. He learned by getting an old keyboard and writing the guitar notes on the white keys with a permanent marker. He had all my old guitar magazines to learn from.
That’s awesome you’ve already been making some nice mixes. Sure, playing along with something you’ve made would be fun.

Just to give closure: the plug-in is amazing! It’s everything I hoped it would be. I haven’t even tried the stomp boxes yet, I just dialed in a nice tone.
