I have gone ‘cold turkey’ having given up sugar in my diet. My next big idea is to give up coffee. So I threw my coffee in the trash yesterday. I am sad to say I almost went through the trash this morning to retrieve it! Must be a sign of addiction.
I just know that coffee is high calories from my pt. Glad i don’t drink it often.
Other alternatives can be herbal supplements. A drop or two of honey will help with withdrawal symptoms
Just had a cup of black tea and it was lovely. Have woken up fully without the need for coffee. Will save money as well.
green tea is a really good step down from coffee it has more caffiene in it than just regular tea but the content is much less than whats in coffee of course also green tea has antioxidants so its just good for you in general . also B vitamins help with energy metabolism .
Don’t drink too much green tea though, it can cause anemia.
I cut my coffee down to 2 cups a day, just one spoon of instant in each. Every so often when I’m in town getting my meds for instance, I’ll have a latte. The latte kind of makes me feel good, so long as I keep it for a treat.
That was my plan too. If I ever go into town I may treat myself to a real coffee (but no sugar though)
I love green tea. I put chamomile tea mixed with green tea, 1 teaspoon of sugar and a splash of milk. Yes I have milk with green tea… I really like it. Black tea gives me heartburn, probably because black tea is fermented. Green tea also has l-theanine in it.
I’m a heavy tea drinker and would prefer to include coffee. When I had money and was away from Home doing some project work I lost weight and it was awesome. Though I drink coffee once in a while I drink tea regularly.
If I have money and if I’m alone, not living with parents then
I will be a heavy tea+coffee+green tea drinker.
Good luck with the green tea. For me it’s the devil’s brew(yuck!).
I love Green tea but I’m allergic to it.
Got sent to the ER with labored breathing, really high blood pressure and a body rash, last time I drank some Green tea.
I require coffee to jump start my brain when I wake up. I wake up with a death glare and then take the coffee back to bed and drink it, then wait five minutes puffing my ecig to make the caffeine metabolize faster, then I go workout like a nut and then it’s all systems go.
But unless you run or do advanced calisthenics like Marine grade exercise, dont drink all that much coffee. Lots of athletes use coffee, so do students. I am both, so I drink at least one mug of strong coffee a day.
I drink green tea for fun, I like the taste.
you inspired me. I need to stop coffee too, it’s triggering negative thinking. I’m gonna cut down to one cup starting tomorrow morning and see how it goes
I don’t put sugar in my coffee but I want to cut down to 3 cups a day. Other than that I just drink water.
There are lots worse things than coffee. I kicked booze eight months ago and now I look forward to my coffee.
I have been drinking ginger tea after meals. I have a problem with regular tea. Goes straight to my brain with no positive results. Just kind of freezes the frontal lobe, like most other supplements except the d3 which had been great,
