I’ll let you all know how I respond.
what is spg-302? A new drug? what does it treat? Im genuinely curious.
It was originally made for als but it’s in phase 2 for schizophrenia. It helps regenerate glutamate neurons in the brain.
Pretty brave of you. I wouldn’t participate in a study.
I dont know if id ever participate in a phase 1 study especially once we start getting into things like genetic engineering but 100s of people have already been on it and ive been communicating with someone who’s been on it close to a year. Plus I feel like on some level I’m running out of time so I might as well roll the dice.
Keep us informed @TheLogician
I will eat pizza
It helps my mood and stomach hunger
Incredible ! I wish I could do the trial for SPG302… If I had the money to travel to Los Angeles or Australia I would have done that… In which location you are going to trial it ? There is this paper of 2023 talking about why the loss of synapses could contribute to schizophrenia. It’s called the synaptic hypothesis of schizophrenia version III. (since i am a new user I can’t post links…)

Welcome
L.A. I’m somewhat nervous. This is uncharted territory medically. Just so tired of living like this.
Like you said, they did the phase 1 study without
any major side effects… When are you going to have the medicine, if I may ask ? And I hope they’re going to have an open label study after in case they give you the placebo ! It’s only since 2016 that we are able to mesure synaptic density (SV2A marker) in vivo. And the first study to mesure it for the schizophrenics was published in 2020. It correlates with the study post moterm done before that points schizophrenics avec less synaptic density overall.
have less* sorry !
Within a couple weeks I think.
Hi there @TheLogician. I am thinking of joining the trial in Australia and have spoken with someone but I keep feeling like pulling out. Apparently I have to go every week over an hours drive there and back, don’t think I have the motivation. She said there was dizziness as a side effect but feel she wouldn’t tell me the whole truth. It’s a risk but someone has to do it I guess.
What do you feel she was leaving out?
Some of the possible side effects?
Bearing in mind that I am very paranoid, I just think that it’s not in their interest to paint a negative picture so they’re bound to say that there were hardly any side effects as she did. She said she would send me more info soon. I was given the option of going on a hormone treatment trial as well. I really want to do the spa one as it is groundbreaking but I feel too scared as I feel it is really unknown.
The main reason I haven’t pulled the trigger yet is because evenamide might become an option for me pretty soon and I’ve heard wonderful things about that drug. If im honest im a little attached to it. I talked to a girl on here who’s been on it for awhile and it gave her her life back in a way that’s never been seen before in schizophrenia. Also the trial for spg-302 is phase two so we know next to nothing about its efficacy or the risk involved. So I totally understand your hesitation. I’ll let you know if I end up entering the trial. Maybe we can do it at the same time and compare how we respond.
