The results for SPG302 in a Phase 2a Study for Alzheimer were published a couple days ago at the 2025 Alzheimer’s Association International Conference. It’s pretty encouraging !
It’s the same molecule that is been trialed for ALS and Schizophrenia.
It regenerates glutamatergic synapses. For the Schizophrenia phase 2 trial, the studies are now completed in the Australian locations. The results are expected to be published between December 2025 and February 2026 for Schizophrenia.
The results for the Phase 2a Study for Alzheimer are here.
Can you please make a simple statement as far as In laymens terms. I’m not Understanding you
Sorry, English is not my native tongue, maybe I wrote in bad English. I’m French.
The same molecule that is being studied for Schizophrenia, SPG302, is also studied for Alzheimer and it shows good results.
Thanks. Your English is OK. don’t worry about that. I know some languages but I don’t know French.
@Sebastien-Casse I enjoy studying foreign languages but I never studied French really. What part of France are you from? I don’t know anything about France except That it is bordered by the Pyrenees Mountains
That’s wonderful!
I live in Marseille ! The second most populated city of France after Paris. It’s in the south of France. That’s a good start to know this ! We love red wine and bread too, and also protesting.
This drug has a huge future. I assume the FDA has given it priority. If all goes well, it will be on the market around 2030-2031
Yes, I am very hopeful for this molecule. It could be a game changer if it is effective for schizophrenia. We lack synapses in some parts of our brains compared to healthy people.
I never went to a protest myself but I did sign a lot of petitions. There are people in prisons all over the world for their political views or their spiritual views and I signed petitions to get them out of jail.
Yes, I agree. It’s very good that the results for Alzheimer are positive. There is like 50 millions of people living with it worldwide. They published the results less than a week ago.
For Schizophrenia, the Phase 2 study should have ended on October 2025 but they updated the clinical trial the 23th July and now the end of the study is more between December 2025 and February 2026. The good news though, for the Schizophrenia study, is that the trials in Australia are now done, there is only in Los Angeles where they are still recruiting.
They could also have a fast-track designation from the FDA if the results are very promising.
This is really interesting stuff!
Yes, fingers crossed…
