Truman show delusion

Trying to make sense of the Truman Show Delusion… For me, I wonder whether psychosis takes us to a dimensional split, where people aren’t fully in control of themselves. In other words, something else comes in to them, causing them to behave oddly, or say certain things.
What do you think? What are your theories?

My theory is that you should ignore it. Altho im guilty as sin as following my own strange set of beliefs. But what i will say is - so long as its not causing you or others distress - and you dont go down the rabbit hole too much. Why the hell not.

Funnily enough - im waiting for an influx of conspiracy posts on here when the new matrix resurrection movie comes out properly :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, we should probably ignore it. Love our neighbour is important.

Its fine, sourcing a bit of comfort from these strange things us schizophrenics think up. So long as you keep yourself grounded and remember its just a delusion at the end of the day.

I won’t lie. It’s hard making sense of it all. Still, making sure we always have rope attached is important.

Sometimes I think the general public are mindless idiots. But there’s a method to their madness, they’re smart and they get what they want.

The trick is to not want for too much I guess.

I actually think its more of a case if “ignorance is bliss”. I can tell you now - in all the years drinking in the pubs - that thug that wants to smash your face in after 10 pints, would be crying for his flaming mother if he put up and heard half of what we do in our heads with psychosis.

I ignore by reading a good book. This is how to alleviate troubles.

Unfortunately I have been captured by a lot of thoughts recently…

Still, I have lots of mountains to keep me company. The wind comes and goes, and the grass is green, so I am okay in general.

Your brain is functioning abnormally, which alters your perception of reality. Your mind tries to make sense of this altered sensory experience by creating meaning through different stories, whether it’s the Truman Show delusion, the CIA are after me, I am Jesus Christ come again, etc. Your brain is not processing information in a normal way and you lose touch with what is more or less a shared reality with other humans.

Yes, I guess I lose touch with the shared reality of the world at large. I’m not in denial of this. It’s the problem we all have in this lifetime. I’m awake to dealing with this problem though.

I guess trying to figure out what is unknown about our condition leads me to breeding and brewing unwanted thoughts. Some days I wish I was normal, but I thank God for my existence anyway.

I have something like the Truman Show delusion. Just focus on where you are and who you’re with. What other people think about you is secondary.

Thanks. That’s a big help. I guess it’s remembering that we’re not alone in this.

Sometimes it helps me to know that other people have similar delusions. Because if they were watching me, they’d know I’m not watching them.

I think it’s simply an illness that is treatable through medication and therapy. We like to think it gives us special insight. Nope.

I suffer from Trumanomatrix

It’s just a delusion, and a really sad one at that. As someone who has lived with it, it disconnects you from reality so you can’t connect with anyone. You’re basically alone and don’t trust anybody or amything. There’s no insight, only misery.
