Personally I feel that we are all united as one being and that I am a manifestation of the entire universe so naturally I feel that I am intimately connected with all of reality and not separate from it. As a result, I expect the entire universe to be “with” me and not just watching me.
Rupert Sheldrake and Alan Watts also discuss this topic and they reconcile eastern mysticism with western scientific methods.
This podcast by Charles Eisenstein helps me understand how the universe is all alive and that we are interconnected immortal spiritual beings having a human experience.
This is known as Panpsychism, the idea that all is conscious. Those are some rabbit holes to explore.

The truman show which is what I think you’re referring to seems to be a rubbish analogy for schizophrenic experiences.
Why is the Truman show a rubbish analogy? It literally feels like that. The Matrix is too impersonal to encompass that delusion.
The delusion is such that you feel like everyone is playing a scripted role centering around your life.

I don’t believe in Truman delusion thank God. It must be hell. I knew a few people that had it. Some could work. Not sure why I’m so disabled. I got the short end of the stick.

Some nights (well, lots of nights) I think people are going to come torture me.
I guess im truly crazy. Today is a wake up call. Like I thought everyone was lying including the doctors, but im just a schizophrenic now. I see it.
Feels like Truman delusion to be honest.
I get life like dreams or memories when I sleep. Feels like past life recall, but i guess not real. Anyone relate?
