Does abilify or clozapine cause this

I Googled it and some APs can cause swallowing issues.
But really you shouldn’t be asking Dr. Google but your real life doctor.

Yes, clozapine is notorious for disrupting the swallowing reflex.

This side effect got better for me on some APs long term.
Don’t quit it. Ask your pdoc about it. If they say stop taking it, then stop. But if they say it’s not from the med, then continue to take it
Risperidone (more) and Abilify (less) both caused me some episodes of choking on my own saliva while sleeping. But these episodes have passed. I’m on Abilify 10mg and life is good.
I have that too @Crystal-Cotton. Its psychological in my case… They call it dysphagia, i even didnt know that this existed before it happened to me lol…
What is working against it on me is to be less anxious, less depressed and just better mentally… But i still prefer to eat alone, because of it lol…
I had it more severe one year ago though and i even lost weight around it…
Dont worry much though, you’ll get better on it, i hope we both will feel healthier one day
