Trigger Warning: PG13 sexual content

I have a weird question for people with vaginas. I’m wondering if what’s happening to me is normal.

Sometimes I wake up having extremely intense orgasms that happen when I’m dreaming of non-sexual things.

They’re so intense that they’re painful and the sensitivity lasts the rest of the day.

I’m 46 years old, and have no ovaries or uterus so I’m post-menopausal.

Can anyone with a vagina relate to this? I’m embarrassed about bringing it up with my dr. It’s easier here because no one actually knows me.

I was surprised when I found out someone can have an orgasm in a part of the body other than the genitals.

Did you not read her post? She said its painful. How is that as good as Christmas.

Cmon @77nick77 , she just said they were painful. Maybe you are joking, but maybe we should let this thread have serious answers.

I’ve definitely woken up having an orgasm but it was related to the dream

Thanks for the link @anon4362788

I think I might be developing the persistent disorder described in the article because it’s an unpleasant, overly sensitive, to the point of pain all day long sensation afterwards. I’ll start learning more about that and what I can do.

Ita happened to me before but i had sexual hallucinations that caused it

Edit. I have a johnson

It might possibly be a med side effect? I would recommend speaking to your pdoc about it as well as a regular doctor.

You should definitely talk to your doctor about it. If you don’t feel comfortable talking with your PDoc about it, talk to your GP about it. There has to be some sort of medical explanation and you deserve medical treatment for it.

Edit:
You may want to see a gynecologist

After reading the link @anon4362788 posted, I realize many women have had a similar issue, if not exactly the same. I’m trying to get the courage up to see a gynecologist about it.

That’s the spirit. You should definitely talk to a gynecologist

I had painful retroactive ejaculative problems with clozapine and I never felt comfortable talking to my doctor about it and I wish that I had been more outspoken from the beginning

I understand. It’s embarrassing. I’m sorry you weren’t able to talk about it ever though.

I experience a lot of unwanted sexual side effects from the psych meds but I have a really hard time talking about it with my female doctor.
I don’t think it would be much easier if I was seeing a male doctor either

I totally get that @Wave . Hopefully somehow you find a way to bring it up without being so embarrassed. That’s what I’m aiming for

Thanks for letting me know @Qwerty . You don’t have to answer, but I’m curious - did it go away for you?

Occasionally it still happens.

Well @Qwerty , I hope you and I both manage to be open enough about it to get help for it. Good luck to you.
